Shamus Young "The Blistering Stupidity of Fallout 3"

Glaring plot hole? The Tunnel Snakes are in the game for like 5 minutes and are rather inconsequential

Things that Fallout 3 did right!

I agree NV proves you can have first person + RPG although I would like to see VATS not be dependent on the action points so people who dont want to FPS can play quasi turn based combat with VATS

Shamus Young "The Blistering Stupidity of Fallout 3"

There are plenty of legit knocks against FO3 but the source of the tunnel snakes jackets seems a bit trivial to me.

Shamus Young "The Blistering Stupidity of Fallout 3"

If the pre war world was a mirror of the 50s it stands to reason the survivng entertainment available in the vault was 50s style entertainment.

Forming a greaser gang is exactly the sort of thing sheltered teenagers that grew up watching movies like the outsiders would do

    A (Minor?) Case for Optimism?

I liked FO3 despite its problems. Im hopeful that they learned and will do better with the story and dialouge this time around. I will reserve judgement unfil more info is available.

Why is Caesar legion so hated?

I think first impressions play a role, the first time you encounter them they have just brutally murdered a town full of people. Its not until you talk to Caesar in depth that you realize there might be a method behind the madness

Thread idea: explain something Fallout 3 didn't (fanon)

The old C ration cans the army used to give out were said to be good for 50 years, with advances in technology by 2077 and a bunch of preservatives I dont think its that great of a leap.

So Our Protagonist Is Over 200 Years Old

Dr. Braun from FO 3 and House from NV were both over 200 but House and probably Braun also were as good as dead outside of their containment Hopefully they have some sort of decent way to explain why your character can make it out and not some half assed bullshit

Elements and ideas Fallout 4 should take over from Fallout New Vegas

This is the one thing i really hope they hold on to. The different ammo and currencies were cool but its not a big deal if that doesnt make it. The faction rep needs to be there. One thing that really bugged me about FO 3 is why no one in the citadel blinked a eye when my character walked in...

Thread idea: explain something Fallout 3 didn't (fanon)

In a world that makes radioactive soda is it so far fetched that the pre packaged food would be so full of preservatives that they would be good after 200 years?
