Bethesda: Save the Single Player games

Showcasing how the advances in technology allow for so much more meaningful interactivity and reactivity than in the crummy 90's. That is Fallout at its peak. There is some nice symbolism in putting garbagecans over the NPC's, and covering things with garbagecans in the first place.

Which ethnic and cultural groups have had it the worst on Earth?

It's quite often been the reasonable people of any culture or ethnicity who just want to live their lives that get mangled one way or another between the fights of the polarized religions/politics/movements, left and right. That's not a specific group as requested in the OP, but I don't care.

    Cyberpunk 2077

The market is already driving me away fast, so I'm not too concerned about that. I'll likely not be around when that happens. I do wish, though, that some day I'll know how to make my own games, kinda like Jeff Vogel. There just never seems to be enough time to self-learn all the finicky techy...

    Cyberpunk 2077

Just based off of Witcher, I'm sceptical about this whole thing - have been since the beginning and even more so after Witcher 3. I suppose what can be guaranteed is a nice storytelling platform, but I fully expect them to fuck up the gameplay & character systems part of it. A fun story that is...

    Some Fallout 5 rumours

Sure. They have their own audience now who will not hesitate a purchase if it's the "Todd Howard variety". :drummer: It's kinda sad, though, that even now when all the bridges have been burned twice, there is still the occasional feel, the tiniest of hopes that maybe something'll flip next time...

    Some Fallout 5 rumours

I have a rumor too I heard somewhere: "It's going to be shit."

Gripes by the Number: New Vegas nonsense

They didn't need a super complex system to become what they are. I've many times seen people claim something to the effect of "if Fallout had combat like Jagged Alliace 2, it would've been so much better", but I don't think that's true. Combat instances would've just become way more heavyhanded...

PG is something again I need to check out... Jesus fuck those things are piling up... Try Desolation in the meantime:

I like the style and the honesty of the sound, but the delivery is a bit too "wannabe" punk for me. This is better: And for the style, so is this: (Neither is punk btw, just similiar in some ways to the original song.)

Jesus, you actually liked it and I'm not the only one? Anyway.... DSKNT sounds good, but I probably need to listen to it more. Thantifaxath has this weird melodic thing going on for its chaos that caught me in an instant, that I can not point my finger at. Here's another band of this ilk...

There is a sense of "I want to hear this thing" all around this song, it sounds calmly meditational so 7/10, but it is for a more patient moments than this here. Paradoxically, in light of what I just said, I give you back this thing:

Gripes by the Number: New Vegas nonsense

My #1 very big gripe is the fucking gameplay. I don't care about dated visuals or thin sounds or techical issues (I endured Fallout 2 and VtMB unpatched back in the day, FNV was a cakewalk by comparison to either). I played the game through twice so it was "adequate" enough as a game, but the...

I tend to like certain types of melodic rock and prog, but that felt a bit too commercial to me and almost sounded like it was a contestant for the Eurovision song contest. 6/10

The essential salts: What makes a roleplaying game?

One should consider the relation between the terms roleplaying and game here. Roleplaying, in isolation, is something you can do anytime anywhere with or without a game. All you need is an incentive and imagination. Here, though, the terms are intertwined together wherein the game is to...

    Some Gripes with Fallout 2

I'm of the unfortunate, or fortunate (depending on the point of view) bunch who started the series with 2. I saw all the jokes and puns, and the narrative shortcomings before I knew they were held in so great interest. But even after delving into the original title, I could not see the fault in...

What my idea of a perfect Fallout sequel would look like

One thing that struck me with this new "close up" perspective is that the raiders feel and behave like nesting animals. That was probably the intention too, but it was a new feeling... The raiders before didn't appear like that. What could be a neat little dynamic to make them more "humanlike"...

    Some Gripes with Fallout 2

There is legitimacy in the criticism and one can't be blamed for laying it down, and it would be foolish to deny that, but there are also the senses of relation and proportion that should come into play when looking at the big picture which, in the case of Fallout 2, is the one getting the...

    Some Gripes with Fallout 2

What I’ve noticed during these 10 years post-reanimation of Fallout, is that people increasingly consider Fallout more as an interactive lorebook than an RPG (or, at most something that could be interpreted as ’FPS with some stats combined with interactive lorebook’). That’s (in no small part)...

What my idea of a perfect Fallout sequel would look like

A lot of stuff to agree with there (I don't particularly like the Shadow of Mordor or Dark Souls comparions and stuff like that, though, and certain stuff isn't even mentioned - like environmental interaction and skill checks there). Too bad it's all been repeatedly thrown at Bethesda by a wide...
