Okay, all the other points are in, with your suggestions. However the above, and the rest of the lines in that file, are default Fallout 1. Though it sounds grammatically incorrect, it could be part of a compound sentence that is assembled in code - 'his weapon destroyed 'something''.
I'm fine...
Pete has the most mixed up combination of English and Spanish in the game, so it probably the worst case example for the trait. However, without the guillemets the player would never even know that their trait is working. The benefit should be obvious over time. This is also a feature limited to...
These are indicating that you are hearing Spanish, which you understand through the hot-blooded trait. Without the trait the player would have seen actual Spanish, rather than English in guillemets. This allows the player to know that their hot-blooded trait is working.
Most of the points...
@malaise_chalk - good feedback, I will address all the points I didn't change. Anything not mentioned has already been tweaked/added into the translation. So thanks for that!
VCChild.msg:122 "I'm afraid they'll come back. The raiders."
This is okay, a kid, or an adult, could deliver this line...
Glade you are enjoying the game. I get the same feeling you describe.
As for rebalance, I can't say more than you already know. This is an aspect of the mod I did not get into when translating/bug fixing. I am not a big 'balance' guy, and generally play role-play games rules free, meaning...
Just tested this, and went through the code, and looks like it is already fully implemented!
@malaise_chalk - welcome to the forum! I hope you will enjoy your first play through of Sonora - think it is well worth it. I also welcome any feedback which can improve the translation. Very welcome...
Hmm... looking at the code in Fallout2.exe (through the decompilation) and comparing with the scripting/global variable use by Nevada Band, there may be the potential for a serious bug in the game. A global variable might be being reused that, once incremented past a certain point, triggers...
Good point. I'm not sure, and had assumed they were forced to include them. Maybe I am wrong there. The confusion surrounding them remains however. I am not above tweaking things like that in my next version, which will depart slightly from a 'faithful translation'
I didn't know this, though I...
They are fine, but they are also something Nevada Band was forced to include. So not including them might have been their preferred option. They do confuse a LOT of people.
I thought a voice-over of some kind accompanying them could help explain their significance. Maybe a hearkening back to...
They are replacements for the Hakunin dream sequences of Fallout 2, which were hardcoded, and timed. So, as far as I know, nothing you actually do in game affects their appearance/progression.
The player is left to interpret their meaning on his own.
I have built/am building a custom version...
This line is used, so maybe the Vault 27 section is being used generically for finding the two vaults? Vault 24 is part of the Dayglow expansion, and that line only appears if you are in certain areas of Dayglow.
I changed subway to 'cellar', as it is a little more 'cave-like' in definition.
My first plan, but I couldn't find a hi-res enough version of the original vault door - I went with an alternate look that might suffice. For Villa I am pulling images from the opening video. I will let you see some, along with some other frequent posters around here, to get some critical...
The error is in the description. I opted to use Fallout 1 descriptions where possible, but the original Russian description doesn't specify the type of scope. In the code it *is* specified as an Unertl, so that's what it should be. I will adjust the description to be vague, but keep the Fallout...
@OnlyALad - I added a zReply here in the script, so we now have line 1220 as well, which uses the feminine version, and 220 uses the masculine version.
It's things like this, along with tommy gun wielding gangsters, sword-wielding yakuza, the temple of trials, etc. which disqualify Fallout 2 from being the 'Best', even if we had more fun playing it.
