The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Nah, he pretty much shitted on it except with more words.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

The funny thing is that if they did changed it but it was somehow worse and we criticized the worse change, they would say people just want the old game again. Basically all Bethesda fans do is move the goalpost.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

The remaster didn't even attempted to fix it. Still gonna run into massive damage sponges not even halfway through the game.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

He pretty much shitted on the game and his arguments are the ones me and many others have used against Oblivion for many years now.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

I will actually agree with this. Skyrim at least embraced its shallowness, even if it sucks at the end of day. Oblivion on the other hand is far too shallow for someone that wants depth in their RPGs, but it doesn't have all the shit normies like that Skyrim has with the kill cams, dragon shouts...

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Let's not pretend Oblivion had any artistic merit to begin with, it just looked like extremely generic, wannabe Lord of the Rings. Morrowind on the other hand would actually lose something if it got a bad graphical overhaul.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

People that are now trash talking Skyrim and saying it's worse than Oblivion will instantly change their tune if Skyrim gets a similar remaster. Bethesda fans are just bandwagonners, whatever is popular at the moment will gets its dick sucked and be compared favorably even to other games in the...

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

And Oblivion is massively dumbed down from Morrowind. :lmao:

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Nah, depends on how you do it. Remake of Resident Evil 1 looks miles better than the original, and not just in the polygons department. Much better atmosphere, better lighting, better sense of dread. The difference is that Capcom gave a shit when Bethesda didn't.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Nostalgia goggles are real, people feel the need to get the remaster because it's for a game they played when they were kids. I'll say that 82% is kind of low, for a game that people sucked its dick back in 2006 with 10 out 10s. But let's not forget that a lot of the remaster's positive reviews...

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Graphics are the least of Oblivion's problems anyway. I'd rather they had fixed the level scaling, combat, factions, and put back all the stuff they removed from Morrowind.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

I'll agree that the graphics in Oblivion were probably done with limitations of being open world in mind plus hardware limitations, but it's still wrong to say that's what the graphics looked like at the time when they didn't. But this time they had no excuse and still managed to make it look...

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

No, they didn't. That's an insult to the games that at the time had far better graphics, even in the previous console generation. Oblivion has been since release memed for its bad textures, really bad pop-in and potato faces. What Bethesda has done with the remaster is make the game look dead.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

This shit was most likely rushed out the door because how heavily panned that garbage Starfield expansion (and really Starfield base game as well) was, so they are desperate for money. Also, it's real this game has no mod support. That's just a sure-fire way for this thing to die really fast...

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Leave every game outside of Fallout 3 the fuck alone, Bethesda. I don't want you smearing those games with your garbage ass Unreal Engine 5 bullshit.
  16. Norzan

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Yup, that's the strategy to avoid the sponge bullshit not even halfway through a playthough. Haven't seen anywhere claiming this was changed in the remaster, so you have to deal with the old wack ass level scaling and fuck that.
  17. Norzan

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Oh no, that's too funny. I swear if it gets no mod support, that would be hilarious.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Level scaling is not the same as leveling system. Level scaling is enemies automatically leveling alongside you, making any progression worthless. And in the case of Oblivion you actively get weaker instead of stronger because enemies get way more stats per level than you, so not even 10 hours...
  19. Norzan

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Runs like shit apparently according to steam negative reviews. The usual for Bethesda. Didn't find anything about the level scaling being changed, the combat being made less bad (improved animations hardly matter when the combat is so braindead and boring), or any improvement to the RPG...

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake/Remaster.

Oh god, the faces. They somehow managed to make them more cursed than the original.
