    EMP in Fallout

Using 1,2, tactics and New Vegas. So, I have been thinking, how potent EMP based weapons are in lore and the gameplay and was rather surprised. EMP weapons are oddly weak. They don't affect cyberdogs, implants, energy weapons and such. They do affect robots. Not sure about power armour, was...

Science jargon? Proton axe, protonic inversal axe?

It does electric damage as far as I can tell. Not sure how protons factor into that, or what inversal would even mean. If it was just inverse, then wouldn't they call it the inverse proton axe instead? Or is this just pure, unadulterated, science-themed gibberish? Wild speculations welcome.

    Fo2 Highest science check? 170?

I keep reading that the highest science check requires 170% skill, and it's mostly just for a laugh. Anyone know what that is? Or at least where to find it? Can anyone confirm that it even requires this much skill?

Science checks never seem to work?

I tried upping it to 132% and I still couldn't get the bloody door on the first level of the Glow open after dozens of attempts. I did it once before with a lower skill level. I seriously cannot figure out if my character is ever able to open something. I mean is everything that you can try...

    The Science of Hacking Terminals

Edit: added image. Would anyone with a coding background give some input on this? I'm wondering what we're supposed to understand is happening. Or perhaps more literally what is happening, even if it's a bit ridiculous. Which it probably is, given how ridiculously easy it is to crack these...

A analytical perspective, and debate of planetary colonization.

Since I noticed a alarming amount of derp flooding the forums as of late I figured I post something to get people to productively think for a bit. I wish to initiate a discussion, and possibly a debate related to the topic of colonization of other planets. Granted we have individuals such as...

    Yet another sci-fi thread

What are the best examples of sci-fi? My school actually has a sci-fi class. Strange buy we've watch buck rogers (fucking great BTW) star trek TOS and the next generation. I, Robot, Blade Runner. We even watched gravity (mostly so the teacher could bitch about how it made no sense at all). If...

How deaf would everyone be if this happened in real life?

So I was watching some X-men movie and you had a scene in it where one of the heroes is so quick that he just walks around at super fast speed catching bullets and just fucking around. And I wonder how much of a sonic boom that would cause. Also how ridiculously strong muscles and reflexes would...
