A Classic Fallout Game Made with the Divinity Engine?

First time out of the vault
So Divinity: Original Sin was recently released and along with it is the (unrefined) Divinity Engine. From what I've heard and from looking at it, it seems fairly versatile but perhaps not too difficult to use. It's the first turn-based isometric RPG I've enjoyed in quite a while. The base game has lot's of good roleplaying mechanics, including a literal rock-paper-scissors dialogue argument system and detailed character-building. If the Engine really is as good as it seems, then maybe it is possible to create a fan-spinoff Fallout game, in the classic style of FO1 and FO2. It would obviously require lots of new assets, animations, and etc before the actual game itself could be made, but I know it can be done within reasonable time if we get enough people.

I've got some decent design ideas in place. I was thinking the game could take place in the southeastern US, Florida and Louisiana in particular. It would not be one single huge open world, you would travel across distances through a map like the original games. I also thought about recycling Tactics 2's old plot about a rogue GECK churning out mutant fauna and etc. I also thought that it might be interesting if the PC originates from the Enclave, as most other origins have been explored, i.e. a Vault dweller, a tribal, a BoS initiate, an ordinary courier. The PC could choose whether or not to obey Enclave orders throughout the story.

I'm not much of one for programming/modeling/etc. but I can write dialogue and do some design. I guess before I ask for help, I should see if anyone thinks this is a good or even plausible idea.

Why Divinity? FIFE (fifengine.net) was originally made for making FO-like games before pretty much restarting and focusing on being a more generic engine. Also, does Divinity support hex grids?

One could also write a new engine from scratch.
