Well...this, if Fallout 3 is ever made, will probably be done (or something close to it) anyway. What I'm talking about is combat animations. As you all know, the "death" animations could be better. Like more accurate dismembering...yeah...that's the ticket. Also, when a rat gets hit with a sledge hammer, and flies back about 10 feet, I just think "what an amazing trick" If you swing down to crush something like a rat, they would be more likely to go through the ground, hehehe, right? But anyway, even so. The rat slides the whole way. There should be some bouncing and rolling involved. The same way with humanoid beings. When you hit someone in the face (even with your fists) and they fall, then slide 10 feet. Supermutants look like they slip on a banana peel for cryin' out loud, hehehe. They should fall backwards and spin a little (like with a right hook :) and then fall on your face.

The same goes for guns. If you get shot with a shotgun from 5 feet away, you would most like "fall" back a little bit, huh? The animation should be more scientific. You get shot in the chest, you do a backflip, so to speek, hehehe. YOu get shot in the waist, you should fly back like a < shape (visualize people) You get shot in the legs....well.... you got no more legs.
With a minigun (when wearing power armor of course) you should still get pushed back. You body should shake wildly too, I mean bullets plugging your whole body.....

That's all I have to say about that...Please improve if you wish....

The game will use a different engine so the animation should be more fluid and different.

If they were like the death sequences of Rogue Spear, boy that would look realistic. It looks just as if a real person died in their place.

I think a shot gun blast should send the critter flying though the air for bout ten feet or so, whilst a crippled leg will see the person fall forward on their face. The sledge hammer should really just flatten small creatures such as the rat so maybe a bloodstained patch on the floor will suffice.

Wow and how does this further the enjoyment of the game? As a die hard rpg player/Beta tester
You accually detract from the game needing that real animations....the space can be used making more random encounters, weapons, a new monster. God forbid we need not only body parts but we need to cater to the youth of the 90's 00's and have the continual blood spurt cause they don't understand crossing the line of good taste. The animations are good enough. I suggest going for Quality...not mortal kombat poor sport fatalities to make the children go "oohh look what i did."

Seeing someone wave and just 'moonwalk' over your screen just having had a 'close encounter' with your flamethrower ain't xactly realistic. I would actually much rather see them run around or and finally dropped to the ground (on the knees, then fall forward) or, actually see them trying to save themselves from dying by dropping to the ground and roll around in the durt, to put out the fire (maybe this could work 'at a luckrole?'.) Oh, and can we please have some SCREAMING, I wanna HEAR that motherfucker die!!!
Or have a person who is hit in the arm lose one or two AP's, cause he'd naturally react by using his good hand (on his good arm) to protect the wound. Same goes for head wounds and bodywounds (like when you kick someone in the groin or punch in the stomach, they usually have this late reflex (think it's a reflex, not sure, since I never allowed anyone to help me test it) of putting their hands or arms in front of it.
As for the Sliding part, can't they FLY when a Rocket of grenade detonates right in front of them (at LEAST fall back 5 or 6 feet).

Heh, who knows, maybe in Fallout 4 we could actually have blood spray out of your PC.
