A few gameplay questions [Fo2]

Streeca

First time out of the vault
I searched the forum, and also the guide {which is amazing, btw; the creator rocks} but found no answer to some of the problems i'm having in Fo2.
* Btw, if any of these can be solved by installing Restoration, lemme know {for each} whether starting a new game would be necessary. I read somewhere, that some things in Restoration only work if you start a new game after installing it, while others are less picky.

1} Modoc. The tanner's wife keeps whining about Johnny. I found his toy rifle. Later, i even met him in the Slugs' water pump area. Obviously there's a quest here. Why won't anyone give me the quest already? Can i trigger it somehow? The guide says Balthas should give me the quest, but there are no such conversation options when i talk to him.

2} {this is the most urgent} New Reno, Bishop. I got this suitcase i need to deliver to him, but there's no way to get to him without being shot at by the entire Bishop family. {The guards downstairs say i have no scheduled meeting, the guard upstairs shoots on sight if i get there via Angela} Or is there a way to talk to him and i'm missing it?

3} Den. People mention ghosts. Sulik says there's another bone-spirit there. I check out the graveyard at night, and - nothing. Am i missing something?

4} Klamath. Obviously, the brothers have been trying to scare Torr out of his brahmins. They approached me, and warned me not to tell anyone. Tell WHOM?! The dialog option never appears, even though i found the evidence {strap-on scorpion pincers}. If there's a way to turn them in - how? If not - what's the point with the pincers?

5} Marriage. Yeah, i married her, ha ha. Then she died in the outhouse explosion. But the "married" status remains, people keep talking as if she was with me, and her dead body appear on every screen i enter! Can i stop being married to a corpse and finally become a widower? Failing that, is there a hack so simply remove Miria from the equation?

6} Acceptance. Some locations remain neutral, no matter how much i help them out. I did all of the Sheriff's work and Redding's still neutral to me. I got the slugs and surfacers together, but the Ghost Farm is still neutral to me. Et c.

When you complete the main Modoc quest (the one given to you by the mayor/shopkeeper), the Slugs' leader will have a conversation option to take Johnny home with you.

If you've taken the suitcase quest and have it in your inventory, the guard downstairs should have a conversation option to allow you to go up and meet Bishop. Do you have the suitcase in your inventory? Also, are you using the patch (even the official one)?

Yes, there is one. Not in the graveyard, but the other side of town.

IIRC Restoration gives you the option to turn them in. In the meanwhile, you could solve Torr's quest by killing the radscorpions.
The pincers are there to show you that there are no "bug men" - it's a costume.

#1: You mean the quest about establishing contact between the slugs and Modoc? I've done that, but the only convo i get from the Slugs' leader is him thanking me for what i did, and the only option i get is "bye." :=S
The guide also mentions something about a dog who's supposed to help me? I didn't read further to avoid spoilers.

Thanks! Your input solved me #2.

#3: You mean in the "haunted" room?

Have you convinced the Mayor/Shopkeeper of Modoc to make peace with the Slags? After that, and after talking to johnny, the Slags' leader should have that conversation option.

You welcome :)

The room near the one with the "sarcophagus" and near the Brotherhood of Steel bunker. What you seek would appear there by Midnight.

#1: Yeah, they're at peace, trading and stuff. I spoke to Jonny, but the only options are asking his name and offering candy. Well, i saved and tried the 2nd. His response was quite expectable, lol. So loaded back. Anyway, still no conversation options with the slughead. :={

#3: תודה, אחי! :=} But now i can't find the gangster who Mom says has the locket... Is that one of the trio that used to stand near the green exit grid? Cause those attacked me when i talked shit at them, very early in the game, and i had to kill them. :={ If it's one of them, can the quest still be completed somehow? Or am i screwed?

So, anyone has input on #5 and 6?
Also, is it possible to save the super-deathclaw pack from getting wiped out?

Ask for his name, then he'll ask you for his father's name. Answer "Balthas" and then you could probably get the Slag leader to have the right conversation.

בבקשה :)
You'll probably have to kill the three guys near the green exit grid to get it, but they aren't THAT tough and usually other people won't attack you if you attack them.

IIRC the game simply lacks a "widower" perk. But you could always suggest it for the next version of the Restoration mod.

It could be a bug in some places, and in others it simply doesn't change IIRC.

Which patch/version are you using?

1. To bring Jonny home, you need to get the quest to find him. Talk to Balthas and explore all the dialogue options.

5. That sounds like a bug. Normally, if your spouse dies you get the 'separated' status.

6. In the official patch, your reputation at the Ghost Farm never changes. It should in Redding, but there are a few more things you can do there.

7. Don't talk to Gruthar after fixing the computer. Killap's patch adds a way to get the 'good' ending for them.

I have the US version, with no patches.

#3: As i said, the problem isn't about killing the in the future; the problem is that i already did. Long ago. So long ago, that the bodies are gone. And back then i looted them, there was no locket. So, is there any cheat to bring those punks back to life or something?

#5: Any way this bug can be fixed? I made the body stop appearing on every screen, by handing it/her over as a servant in VC. Didn't even take a karma hit for it. Better a dead servant haunting some clonelike citizen than a dead slutwife haunting me. Still, i'd like to get rid of the Married status, because i wanna make kids with the Bishop mother-&-daughter duo, and i don't want it to be cheating. B=}

Btw, Golan, where in Rekhovot are you? I'm in Kfar Gvirol. :=}

#1: I tried, and no result.
No convo options with Balthas lead anywhere, and Jonny doesn't even let me ask him his name again {he only let me when i first met him, but there was no option to mention his father then}. All i get from Balthas is the trade option and some general chitchat, and all i get from Jonny is the dumb pedo joke {ok, it was funny the first time}.

#6: Yepp; now i bought the deed, cleared the Wannamingo mine, sold the deed back and gave Marge the chip. Redding's still neutral.

Oh, another problem:
7} In the Den, i'm supposed to collect a debt from this guy. I searched the entire Den, and he's nowhere to be found, Per's guide says he's in Flick's place. Well, he's not.

On an unrelated note, you guys kick brahmin. I'm loving it here. 8-)

Uhhhh. Dude, you shouldn't play the game unpatched, it's buggy as fuck. 1.02 official, minimum (although it seems you're already deep in the game, and afaik saves aren't compatible after patching).

You must find a guy that has a description saying he's "Citizen of the Den" or something like that. Bald, hunchbacked, brownish yellow clothes (lots of those there, but only he has that description).

Apply the patch and restart if needed; it's well worth it. Without even the official patch it is buggy as hell.

Marmurek...

He should be one of the yellow-clothed junkies in Flick's place (the room with all these bums near Flick's room).

Thanks! I actually found Fred before i came to check the thread {that was my 4th attempt or so, maybe something i did in between triggered his appearance}.

Meep. Bummer about the patch. I'll keep it in mind for the future, but i won't restart the game now that i'm balls-deep in it. :={
So, once the final Restoration is out and i get around to playing it, I should install the game, then patch, and THEN apply Restoration - right?

No, Restoration already contains the unofficial patch (which includes the official patch); just install it on an unpatched installation and it'll patch it better than the official patch.

Cool, less work for me. :=}
Still searching for a way to stop being married {checked Per's guide, and it too says that i should have became separated when she died, and again when i handed her into servitude, but i remain married!}, a way to get the Jonny quest and a cheat to bring either Joey back to life or just get the locket, i also have new questions:

8} I took Myron away. He didn't wanna stay behind when i entered the BH mine, so he died. Shouldn't that have crippled the Jet industry?
Still, when i talk to the doctor at Redding, it seems the Spice still flows, so to speak. Also, no option to tell McLure that i put a beam through the jetmakers' wheels. Is that yet another bug? Is stopping Jet impossible?

9} Also, does destroying the Den slavers ever become a quest or objective? Failing that, will anyone notice if i do it on my own initiative?

10} I'm supposed to get the Corsicans to pay the family, but when i speak to the Corsican in the studio {i only find one; is the other one elsewhere?} there is simply no dialog option to mention the debt!

New questions keep popping up, so i keep editing...

11} Guide mentions i can get a holodisc from Bishop Pussy Senior, if i get her to admit she's from VC, which will get me access to Westin's territory. {Again, didn't read fully to minimize spoilers} Well, i had a roll with her and talked to her, but after pointing out that she can't be from here, the only convo option {besides changing the subject or going to sleep} is about education, and the only one after that is the "Deficit" joke. Her locker had a necklace that costs less than most guns {so i'm keeping it for in case it's a quest item} but no holodisc at all.
Did i do something wrong? Or are there high requirements? Int 9, Cha 8, Sexpert. Maybe it's because of low Endurance?

8. You can create an antidote for Jet. Start with the doctor in the Vault City vault. It's a bit easier with Myron, but he isn't necessary. For future reference, you can make him stay behind, if you insist.

9. Killing the slavers gives you experience, loot, positive karma, frees Vic without having to pay for him, and Becky comments on it. That's it.

10. There's only one, and the option should be there. Make sure you have the quest listed in the pipboy.

11. Some of her dialogue options depend on what you've talked to her about downstairs, or what you know about goings-on in the world. There is a holodisk, and she will mention it if you can take a certain dialogue path, but she doesn't have it. There is something else useful that you can get by mentioning VC. The necklace isn't significant.

Thanks! I got him the sample, and explained that it's made of two-headed bullshit. I guess now i know what i did it for!

#10: Yepp, Pipboy says "Collect tribute from Corsican Brothers", but the only dialog options are about porn; more specifically, about ME in porn. >_<

#11: Thanks, i'll try to start with different subjects downstairs. I hope the first time isn't the only time it can be done?

I'm beginning to suck at this. Good thing i'm getting better, so i'll soon be able to do other stuff again and not just play comp games all the time.

12} In NCR, I can't find the Sheriff! The only one at the station is Karl, plus some nameless cops.

1. To bring Jonny home, you need to get the quest to find him. Talk to Balthas and explore all the dialogue options.
You need the perspection of 6 or more to get the option (ask why he looks preoccupied, and tell him your name.)

THAT explains it! My perception sucks balls, that's why i can't do it!
Hmm, i'll get it raised, then.
