A few seemingly general and easy questions (Fallout 2)

First time out of the vault
Hey,
I've been coming to these boards for a few years but never posted until now. I breezed through Fallout 1 when it came out but I am having problems with Fallout 2, maybe you guys can help me out.

1. I have a crippled arm but cannot figure out how to heal it. Doctor in Vault City does not offer healing despite the fact that I fixed the autodoc. Dr. Troy doesnt offer healing, or at least no dialogue options for it. My only options are asking about work and Vault 13. Doctor in Gecko doesnt offer healing either.

2. I'm a level 10 char with an FN FAL as my primary weapon. I've just touched NCR and am mainly still working on New Reno and the mining towns, its been about 4 years. Is this a good place to be and a good weapon?

3. Is there a way to get Marcus on your party in Broken Hills? It seems so and the walkthroughs say YES but I can't do the first mission (fix the air purifier) because I had previously killed Renesco in New Reno.

4. I am in general getting my ass kicked, but my small arms are up at 120%. Is it worth it to invest in armor for my party memebers? (Sulik, Vic, and the bartender from Vault City) and does Sulik ever use anything besides that sledge hammer?:) Anyone know any easy place to get a hold of power armor?

Use your own "doctor" skill on it. Having a doctor's kit helps a bunch.

Yes, although the FN FAL is not the best gun you can have. If you like it, though, talk to the mechanic in Gecko or a certain party in New Reno about fitting a special sight on it.

The parts should be on his body. They look like a little brown fan thingy. You may have to paw through the pile he left if he's been dead a while.

Holy Shit yes! Your party members can in fact wear armor. It's VERY worth it to get it for them. Sulick can use Sledges, Spears, Knives, and anything using the "SMG" frames (this means any SMG BUT the Thompson, and the 14mm SIG pistol and the .223 Pistol).

Not really a good weapon, because of the sucky ammo stats. You should be looking for a .223 Pistol, H&K G11 or HK P90c (or any of several good alternatives). 4 years seems a little on the slow side to be in the early mid game. Remember you have 13 years in all and hopefully it shouldn't be a problem.

For power armour go east from NCR until you reach the sea, and san fransisco. In the first sanfran map there is a member of the BOS. Talk to him and he will give you a quest. Go north until you come to a petrol station named Navarro. Tell your npcs to wait, then talk to the guy, and if you have enough speech skill, you can bluff your way into the base. If not kill him and i think there is a secret tunnel in his house. So anyway, go to the base and take an elevator down. Try all of them until your near a guy in power armour mk2. Talk to him, until he lets you take stuff from the nearbye armoury, which has some PO.
 
That's not a good thing to post Forgotten. Please remove it, and put a link to somewhere they can find it if they chose to ruin the game.
 
I'm just worried that if he was to use it, it makes the game way too easy, and not as fun. If it's his first time through, he should have to get his ass handed to him at every turn, like all of us did. Or at least have the option.
 
if you're in the NCR just steal the fucking Bozar! *cough*
ok, maybe not, because it's just too powerful for my taste. almost as bad as Forgotten's advice i guess...


as for the FN FAL modding: there is an FN FAL HPFA floating around too, which isnt modable. only the standard version can be modded. (the special High Power Full Auto fires the entire clip when shooting burst)

What?! 13 YEARS? Don't need them, heck, I even never realized I had so much. I usually pass the final in less than two years, maybe little more than two the first time I played it. And have done a whole bunch of stuff before the final too! Guess it was for getting the car too quickly hehe.

I guess what he meant was that you have 13 years game time to finish the game. I would give more detailed info but it would probably be a spoiler.
 
Eh don't worry, I'm not going to go through all that just for some armour, I will get it when I get to it. Thanks for the pointers though. Guess I'll keep my eyes open for some better weaonry. And yeah I thought I was going a little slow, may have to pick up the pace to finish the game in the allotted 13 years

The game simply ends for no good reason.

I think the reason would be that the year would otherwise be reset back to where the game begins.
