I've reviewed most of the previous postings, and I've a suggestion that I believe would add to the value of each idea: explain how your contribution would add to the play value of the game. For example, there are several suggestions for new firearms, what role would each serve? At the minimum, you need at least two types of pistol: a small one for low strength characters (due to stats or maybe a Buffout hangover), and a big pistol for characters who want the other hand free for something else (BTW, shouldn't two handed weapons occupy both slots? Why or why not?). Variations should offer balancing advantages and disadvantages, such as a quicker firing revolver and a high capacity automatic. If you want even more pistols, show how they would be different from others (range, accuracy, etc.)
Now, as to combat. As it stands, all combat is a fight to the death. This is not only unrealistic, but a pain in the ass (especially when Cassidy gets careless with the combat shotgun, and you wind up fighting your allies). There should be a surrender option, in which a side that is obviously losing (or is overmatched from the start) can end combat. The survivors will stand around, groveling and begging for mercy while you round up all their gear (allowing Steal actions, like party NPCs do). Of course, you can always massacre the prisoners afterwards, for a HUGE karma penalty, and maybe even a karmic title (Merciless).
And surrender can also be an option for players as well. If you attempt to end combat before the issue is decided, you get a popup "are you sure you want to surrender?" If you click "yes", then the bad guys either strip your gear and send you on your way, or else take you to see The Lieutenant, or whoever. Of course, elite types never surrender, and animals won't surrender or accept surrender.
