A little delay on the articles:

Roshambo

Antediluvian as Feck
I'll just leave the finer details for the imagination, but to the undoubted disappointment of some, I still survive. It involved me on my motorcycle, my shoulder taking off someone's side mirror from their truck as they swerved to avoid rear-ending someone (into the opposite lane, their claim, there was nothing there and it looked more like a squirrel), 26 stitches, a pending criminal investigation by the military of said driver of Ford truck (since it happened on an Air Force base), a civil lawsuit to claim anything the govt. left the idiot, and a good amount of Percocet. So, in a summary, ouch.

I have a lot of things to say, the topics are varied from artistic presentation to world construction, and then onto the dreaded "okay, if THIS is going to be changed, then we MAY begrudgingly accept it only if it's done in a remarkably good way". Important points, but if changed, we do want a style of gameplay that has a lot of depth in playing the character in other ways than chasing stats up. That was sorely missing from the last two Fallout titles. These items will have design alternatives that would be considered "last resort" in acceptance from those who do value the design of the Fallout CRPGs. None are too pretty compared to some of the updates I have on paper.

Then, there will be certain points where I'll say where certain designers should be beaten. I'll save those for later. :)

First of all, Good luck with the whole health thing, hope you get better soon.
(See, i told you getting angry at every troll could be hazardous to your health, but anyway, we'll be much more succeptible to stupidity without you around).

And now mom's time: BIKES ARE DANGEROUS. An uncle of mine is just now recovering from a very ugly accident, had to put those Girder-kinda things around his foot, pins and everything, 2 months without touching the ground, Hyperbaric chamber (is that the correct term? kind of a big steel thing with high pressure where he sticks his foot, used for god knows what) and antibiotics. And just yesterday his daughter had a bike accident, broke two bones, lots of other injuries too.
And in both cases the asshole in the car suffered absolutely *nothing* so think kids, be the killer, not the victim.

Good luck with getting better as well as the lawsuit Rosh.

And post the damn article soon, I wana have a good debate, not a pettyass argument with a noob wanting a FPS.

You wimp or just bad driver :P

Bikes can be dangerous, but usually it's not the bike drivers fault. Those demons behind the wheel of the car are usually to blame, I almost got hit the other day by an old lady in her VW Golf..

Nah, usually I can pull out of the way without problem. If they turned before then, it would have been easier, later, I would have been able to pull around them without problem. :) I do have a lot of experience, given that I grew up in Alaska and that was one of the only transportations around. Going down a mountain path is a suicidal but a fun pasttime. If I didn't have that previous recklessness, then I would probably be dead instead of some minor lacerations (the tear of the metal came nowhere near bone, though I have enough muscle there so it would still hurt even more), a few bruises, and a bit of an ache.

The MP's reaction to me still on my bike but bleeding through the jacket, that was priceless. They're so used to finding the biker in the ditch. Then again, to some it isn't a surprise when someone of my size shears off a side mirror without much injury at about 30 MPH. It did involve pulling the bike away from buckling under, bracing myself before I hit, and some hasty one-legged pedalling to the side of the bike, but it went okay.

No matter how I pleaded, the MP wouldn't let me put a round through their engine. Damn.

i can feel your pain dude

had my first real crash just a year ago

and if course it was due to some stupid cardriver that found it fun to make a run for it after the accident (he was never caught)

anyhow: get well soon, looking forward to the articles and next time use a LAW to blow up the truck that hit yeh

Good thing you'r a deathclaw then...

by the way, I didn't know deathclaws could ride bikes

seriusly, get well.

Road Rash

Road Rash

Good to hear you stayed up Rosh, and I trust the injury is a simple laceration, and, or bruising.

Happy healing!

Had some experience with road rash and out for a short count bell ringing. Then there was the delayed trauma of the body slam when the adrenaline wears off.

Several times.

A motorcycle was my primary transport for 4 or so years. None of my accidents were traffic related, more like out performing my skills than any blame I could foist on the Honda CL's I was trying to slide and turn on graveled corners.

Have been juggling this concept for FO-3'B'.

A Whole Greater Than the Sum Of It's Parts

Fallout, as a whole, is greater than the sum of it's parts.

Quantifying, dissecting, reassembling FO into FOT and FO:BOS has shown that no one has the formula. No 'matter' if their universal field theory embraces the dramatic gravity, or their sub atomics allows for the positive or negative color and spin of Easter Eggs, the construction
appears to be as more a craft than a science.

There is something in the calculus of the equations that implies "fudging". The dynamic interaction of the parts implies quantum spin and the square roots of irrationals.

Maybe this is why many support a "broad front" strategy in advancing what they see as important to include, perhaps to the irrationality of " no Easter Egg left behind".

At some point all the 'known' elements of FO must be considered, because they were relevant parts of a gaming force.

Look at this one 'element'.

It's a quick shot of Leonard Boyarsky's contribution.

Quantify that! And then try to leave Vault Boy and the graphics of alternate sci fi '50's imagery on the cutting room floor!

Build on that foundation and the innovations deemed necessary could be a seamless whole.

No road map, no formula, not even a recipe, just a conceptual glass to pour your considerations into.

Don't you mean "Road Rosh"? Sorry. :P

I've been saying that all along, but it's drowned out in the regurgitating of arguments between "hardcore fans" and "TES fanbois"
