A practical (I think) idea for a mod...

Okay, imagine a game scenario that would run parallel to the quest of the chosen one in Fallout 2 for example, an Enclave grunts' quest to aid in the de-mutantization of the world (Just a thought, I'm not thinking of story yet). All that really would need to be done would be to change the starting position of the player, and re-write npc actions and reactions (I think this can be done with editors). You could even have a "Chosen one" character who would be at various locations throughout the game etc. I mean, this might take a while, but it probably could be done with the efforts of the moding community. Damn I'm tired.

sigh

First we get the tools, THEN we make the quests. Almost anybody can create a wonderful story, or make a really cool and inventive weapon, or make fresh and cool quest, but unless people will have tools, these suggestions will lead nowhere - no offence. No one knows when tools will be available - if ever.

RE: sigh

I have to correct you here: to create a wonderful story, or make a really cool and inventive weapon, or make fresh and cool quest is WAY more difficult then the technical aspects. Even if all your tools are a hex editor and brains.

RE: sigh

I think that what APTYP is trying to say is that without flour, you can't make the pizza. We don't even know if someday we will have the real possibility of create a TC, even if it's almost sure that we are gonna be able to.

About the programs, don't worry, MatuX is here to make all the programs needed for everyone! ;)

Yup.

Making a cool story is easy, problem is, it must not be too controversial - for example, what if Fallout convinced people that sadism is normal and healthy, and nuclear war is a wonderful experience? Sometimes technical issues block the story - making a 3D-landscape that would change literally thousands of times just to create illusion of changing ages is not easy...

Inventive weapon? Well, let's see... What about a weapon that would make all inventory items in target's inventory heavier than 10 pounds to hurt the target the exact amount of pounds? In multiplayer, a perfect way to get rid of 'heavy weapons dude'... Oh, wait, something like this was done in Baldur's Coast, is it? I dunno, didn't played it, but heard about it...

Anyway, if you'll need a story - email me ;-)
