a question about make a dat

First time out of the vault
my mod has not any relation to original game, how can i make a new dat which load my map when i start? thx

maybe my english is not good.i hope u can understand it .
 
i fint the artemple for using the "ASCII search"and modify it . but now exe cannot run
61 72 74 65 6D 70 6C 65 2E 6D 61 70
artemple.map
62 61 73 65 2E 6D 61 70
base.map
it seems errer exe
 
has to have the same number of "letters" for the map title..
so it would be

00 00 00 00 62 61 73 65 2E 6D 61 70
