A Question if i may.... (F1 maps -> F2)

First time out of the vault
Is it possible to load a Fallout 1 Map into the Mapper? i was wanting to look at a few things from F1's Maps..and if i play the game theres a prob..blackness keeps covering my screen..it gets to annoying trying to go somwehere..any help with either of these?

:arrow: By the way if the F1 prob can be fixed..im on XP
 
You can load F1 maps on the mapper, but if you change anything F1 won't recognise them. You can play them on F2 though after you have saved them.
 
Well....Darn

Well i moved the F1 maps files for the mapper could find them(renaming the conflicting ones(Vault 13 maps) and now for some reason the gives me an error that reads: Cound't Find/load text fonts

it worked fine till i moved maps...i delted maps folder and re-extacted the maps for F2..but it still doesn't work..any ideas?


by the way..its a full install of both Fallout 1 and 2
 
You don't need to extract all the FO2 maps into the maps folder, mapper can read all the maps from the master.dat.

I suggest you check out ColJacks mapper tutorials for more information, it may be that your mapper.cfg is not set properly.

BTW, if you save any maps in the data/maps folder you don't need to tag them read-only; this is only done for prototypes.
