For those of us who liked the comical adventure games that Lucasarts and Sierra used to deliver, there is a rather fun game in the making called A Vampyre Story.

The team seems to consist of a bunch of ex-Lucasarts people who worked on various adventure games.

Hah, oh man... haven't played a good adventure game in this vein since the Space Quest series. Fond memories of that, and King's Quest.

Hopefully this one turns out decent, will keep an eye on it.
 
the goth in me might actually make me check this out, do we know the ratting yet?
 
Looks good, nice drawings. I hope this gets some focus back at adventure games, Lucasarts always did awesome jobs.
 
they guys over at the world of monkey island forums are following this closely. that should be a good indication. I have had my eyes on this title for some time now.

The game is currently being developed by Bill’s newly founded company, Autumn Moon Entertainment and is going to have the same style and humor from old-school LucasArts titles such as Monkey Island and Full Throttle.

I was tempted to pitch it to LucasArts but decided not to because they would then own the idea. So I held on to it till I quit and started working on it then.

Yeah, I heard about this game a while ago and thought that it reminded me of Monkey Island 3, so that's a good thing.

It seems that the adventure genre has pretty much gotten back on it's feet again. Possibly thanks to the Siberia games?

Anyway, hopefully one day RPG's will make a comeback in the same way.
 
Where is the darn game? Does anyone know anything? Like a date? It's way too silent on the official site. Dust off the hype machine!

add: ah the french section was actually updated with new screenshots. no date though.
 
Yeah...i heard about the game a while ago and i was very happy that we could finally see a nice Point and Click adventure game in the vein of monkey island.but when is the damn thing going to be released ?!
Adventure game developers usually have problems finding a publisher.telling a publisher that your game is an adventure game is like offering a vampire some garlic !
i also hope to hear a news about dreamfall episodic's one of these days .

EDIT : hmm...the trailer says "coming early 2008" .
 
This game looks really adorable. I need something like this. My Psychonauts and Sam&Max boxes are really getting lonely all by themselves.
 
Great news, hope it'll be good!

Damn, May is gonna be busy for me gamingwise if these games come out when they're supposed to. STALKER Clear Sky is set for May release if we're to trust Steam. And if Rogue Dao comes through, then I'll likely be beta testing the first part of the Planescape Trilogy, Purgatorio.

And now Vampyre Story as well. Good stuff.
 
Hah, to true. Even though they had the game engine and all that this time around, I always felt that aiming to release Clear Sky like a year later than the first one was pretty optimistic considering it's GSC. :mrgreen:

Still, maybe those crazy Vodka drinkers will surprise us this time around.
