Interplay released a statement today. Let me take a quote out of it and reply:

>>"We have suffered some painful and disappointing delays on the release of major next generation console titles, and our limited resources have forced us to focus only on high-end games going forward...<<

So how does this explain Wonderbuck?

You know the funniest thing about this statement is that Interplay has claimed they're moving on to making console games because they're easier and quicker to make.

Well, apparently not if they're losing money trying to develop them. Interplay is used to shipping buggy games because they can "fix them later". You can't do that with a console because there's no way to patch them.

There will be soon. With X-Box and PS2 both having harddrives, it's only a matter of time before a patch is released for a console game.

I don't know much about the X-Box, but the PS2 is one of the hardest consoles to program for. If Interplay is smart *dry laugh* they'll program for Game Cube. It was designed to be very easy to program for (hense, more games), plus I've got a good chance of getting a free one. I've got connections at Nintendo, they already gave me a Game Boy Advance & F-Zero Maximum Velocity (which kicks ass, BTW). Besides which, I was not impressed by the PS2. I'm willing to swear under oath that Gradius looks better on my Super Famicom than on the PS2.

They've already got at least one game in the works that I know about for GCN, but they're likely to focus on the PS2 because of that 10 million user base.

Well, since their games have to be tested in Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo quality control before their release, i think they really should start thinking about all the mess they`ve caused in that area in the last years, or else their wonderfull new strategy will sunk. So, maybe something good comes from it after all... (but i doubt it anyway)

Actually, anyone that payed the liscensing fees could publish just about any pos they felt like. I think Nintendo's about the only company that ever had any sort of quality control like that.

I`m sorry to disagree with you Doyle, but it`s in every publisher`s written contracts with Sony and Microsoft (already) the obligation of sending a copy to their quality labs. If it fails it is send back and they have to put everything 100% right.

But there are holes, that i agree, take Driver to the PS for instance.
