Add Random Encounter: 10 Behemoths

Gia Thai

First time out of the vault
Like someone once said: I dont know why the hell it thought 10 Behemoths enough to kill my squad... In the end game, when we became all-powerful, I think a little bit of challenge is in order

Hokay, like the tittle said, I want to make random encounter with SEVERAL Behemoths, preferable 3 Beh, 5-8 Humanorobs. And this encounter should appear when we are fairly highleveled.

The Questions in term of 3 aspect of a battle:
------
1. Loots (in order to recoup the loss in ammo, medical supplies and tool kits to repair your tank if possible)

1.1 Behemoth should be modified to give more ammo in loot (change the non lootable range option). BUT, how many lootable ammo so that the balance wont be upset? I hate to think of after 3 battle I got enough 50 cal to equipped 3-5 Browning (Making the end battle too easy, I think?)

1.2 Tool kits and meds stashed in their bodies.... Is that acceptable? I mean, come on, robot have no need of meds. But I failed to think of another place to hold
-------
2. Challenge (So that your group can have fun assaulting those big mutha)

2.1 Can we make those Behs spaced out abit? I hope to make each Behemoths appear a bit far from each other, with some humanoids accompany it. If 3 Behemoths appear in one place, I am not sure 6 gunman can take down them all without suffering heavy casualties. And how can we put trigger or whatever to make that?

2.2 How many minions (heavy robot) to escort those Behemoths? They must be a reasonable, logical number , but also not to much to affect the battle strongly ( I mean 15 humanoids swarmed me under cover fire from 3 Behemoths is not funny :terminator: ; but 3 big mutha with no escort is not funny either :wiggle: )

2.3 When should we meet them? When we are level 17? 24?

------
3. Experience

3.1 Keep the number of EXP the same as usual or upped it a bit? and how much?

-----

I am looking forward to the response.

Virtually everything to do with random encounters is randomised. Pretty much everything you've suggested would be impossible to control except for when the encounter is available from.

Okay. EXP can go. humanoid minions can go.

If I keep only the options of Behemoths, can I change the number of ammo in behemoth? And can I make 3+ Behemoth appear in a encounter?

You can change the amount of ammo, you can define an number you want to spawn. What you will actually get is another matter entirely, the amount of ammo is affected by the level of the actor (and probably the level of the player). The number of actors you might actually find maybe be less, or more than the numbers you define in the campaign file (that seems to be only a rough guide) and there's no way to determine their placement on the map.

You can add a custom map to the campaign, it would be easier to have it as a set map instead of random.

Using triggers have someone tell you of an area that contains many metal monsters..balh..blah.

That way you can set ammo, placement, waypoints etc.

If you really want a challenge...use the tough guy option!

No reloading...makes you watch every step, every action.

I did it...I lost several recruits but I never reloaded or restarted a mission ( you can save in bunkers)

Makes it a whole new game...

If you want to make it harder...don't have 4 50caliber machine guns.( with DU ammo)

Try it with 1 max....theres nothing like popping up and spanging a behemoth with a sniper rifle and hoping you get a critical and hoping you have enough APS left to duck before the behemoth cuts you in half.

or sneak out in the path of a behemoth and place mines...

There are many ways to give yourself a brain embolism, as you pound your keyboard in frustration as the squad member that you worked so hard on to make a killing machine is blown up by his own gernade! or gets hit by an errant rocket!

Try tough guy....your tough..right?
