Addicted! help please anyone

I have just started a new level and my main character is addicted and so all his stats are significantly reduced, i have been resting him for days by wandering through the wastland, but he still gets no better, can someone out there, help a poor person? thanks y'all

Have you tried using doctor on him ? make sure he's a little injured or alot..
