Intoxicate posted some news on the Afterfall project, which I don't really feel like translating, so here goes the gist of it:

They're still working on the project. GUI and FX are still to be polished and physics improved. The Techdemo 1 is in the works, and it will cover 1,838 square meters per underground level.

New screenshots will be released in October.

I hope there will be a free playable demo in the future for Afterfall. Keep on keeping on!! :drunk:

why do everyone always point things like that out? it can't be the best thing about the game?! I mean, I don't really care if it only features 400 square meters if those meters are really good. And sometimes, less tend to get more quality time with the artists (which in turn could mean better squares).

What I'm trying to say is that a number like that is for the most time only really interesting to the maker (because it is pretty impressive to take on that kind of workload), but a gamer who haven't tried it won't know if it's auto generated or whatever.. means shit!

just sayin'..

anyway, I really look forward to your game! Keep it up!

This is not an official newspost, it was just some info posted on some forum by the project director.
Besides, some numbers do matter. If you have seen screens of this underground base (with living rooms and basketball hall) then you can imagine the area will really be big considering what will be there (not a lot of nothing). It's not "hey, we have so big land, we are great, bow to us", it's an info on what will be in the tech demo.

Anyway, you are right. Numbers in marketing suck and ussualy don't say much. I once told Augustus to not use numbers in promoting but he just said something like: "Unfortunately, numbers must be in". Sad but true, most people don't even think what do all the numbers mean, but they get the hype and it's needed.
