Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
There's a new thread along with a few new screenshots over at Iron Tower Studio Forum. This time around, ti's the Maadoran Arena that's on display:<blockquote>This is the Maadoran Arena, where fighters die for a chance to make a few coins, providing cheap entertainment for the locals.

From wat I see it combines Medieval with Ancient Rome.
Is that the look you guys are going for?

If you want it more ancient looking, a quick solution would be to decrease the mass. Ancient arenas were more ethereal looking even if massive, like the Colosseum. Maybe adding a few arch openings.

Edit: Damn, it has arch openings LOL. How did I manage to miss it?
Maybe the materials used tricked me. Anyway, retarded comment. The towers maybe responsible for the medieval look then. Or the materials used. It looks too strong and unbreakable for ancient era.---

Can't you use few separate models for the building and make higher poly?
 
I'd like to see more stuff inside the area where you fight. Darksun: Shattered Lands had an awesome arena at the start. There's stone pillars, a couple guys strung up and dying, a cage, etc.
 
I can be wrong, but IMO the gates are too small (to small for a bunch of lions), and should bed located next to each other not next to.
 
Indeed. I remember a thread full of those, both team-made and fan-made. I think most of them (most of the good ones) are in.

The issues are not about the number of polies the model has, but the amount of them the engine can render without a significant performance loss.
