Age of Wonders, multiplay Vista VS XP

So my younger brother and I have been playing quite a bit of Age of Wonders lately against eachother. We like to play with no computers and try to assassinate the enemy leader.

It is a lot of fun.

Anyway, a third person wanted to join the action, but he has Vista (we both have XP).

It should also be mentioned my brother and I are on the same network.

We always play over "TCP Internet". We've all tried hosting and we have also tried direct IP and Hamachi IP and we always have the same problem. When ever an XP game tries to join a Vista game, or vise versa, we can see the game but when we double click nothing happens.

Any ideas? Does anyone know if maybe there is a missing Direct Play .dll or something?

Frack if I know on that... I've had similar issues with computers on different workgroups but that does not seem to be the issue here.

I was considering posting on Heaven Games but those forums are pretty dead. Plus I'd have to register.

The way I figure it, it is probably a Vista DLL problem not an AoW quark so I was hoping someone here had some form of insite.
