The network guy at my work works on one of our clients, and one of their servers with 1,000s of records went down. The only problem is that the server has a non-standard password, so we can't get back into the system.

The question for anyone out there... is there a program he can use to break the password of win nt 4.0? This pc might have scsi drives, so some local password breakers might not work (he said he's been researching, and some say that). Any solution?

We sell accounting software. We don't have the password because the previous vendor set up the server, and the client has no record.

I was hoping for something more specific than searching through astalavista.

There are quite a few winNT password re-set or recovery programs floating around. I've reset passwords for 2 servers and all the machines I take home from work...

I do a search on Google or Astalavista every time...It's not that big of a deal.

On Google search for "nt password recovery" and I'm sure one of the top 5 links will have what you want.
