America is Doing Great!
site-header.png

Two centuries have passed since we flooded the Earth.

For decades, humans struggled to survive, clustered on the new archipelagos, committing violence over what crude oil and arable land remained. The United States collapsed and was divided among the world's remaining nations.

America is Doing Great, a post-apocalyptic role-playing game. Escape enslavement in the barren remnants of Colorado, centuries after the ice caps melt. America is a flooded, war-ravaged shell of its former self… and it’s doing GREAT!

I’ve been working on this huge project for a couple of years now and it’s finally nearing completion! It started as a labor of love inspired by things like the original Fallout games, as well as Canticle for Leibowitz, Kingdom of Loathing, and Adventure Time)

The game eventually grew into my full-time pursuit. Two close friends have provided invaluable assistance with code and art along the way. :)

Tryin' to take what was great about exploring the original Fallout for me-- immersion in a realized world; unforgettable characters and encounters; and intricate stories that aren't afraid to delve into difficult subjects.

For more gameplay, newsletters, or to explore the game / team / development. Take this!
or here’s Steam if you’d like to wishlist (available on other storefronts in the near future)

Thanks for checkin' this out! -Ben

Looks interesting with a variant on the typical nuclear-based apocalypse. The art style seems reminiscent of Daniel Clowes. I will hold off judgement until I can see what the gameplay is like and how nuanced the storytelling is. If the game is just a colorful series of pamphlets for goofy settings and heavy-handed storytelling, then I will probably pass on it.

I like what I see of it.

But just like Iridium_ionizer, I will have to wait and see to form a proper opinion of it.

Thanks for your interest ya'll :) Can absolutely see the Clowes comparison, the artist and I haven't come across him before, though we've been inspired by similar things.

Oh man, that's pretty much the worst case scenario for what I'm making isn't it? lmao I wouldn't blame you. Ham-fisted writing is what inspired me to get into game development--Hoping to deliver more subtlety than one might generally expect in a video-game. Something fresh and consistent in vision. Time will tell how I do lol

I too wait for an *actual gameplay* trailer to pass judgement, that should be coming within the next month! :)
