Heya guys! Happy new Year!! Oh i'm too early saying this.
First thanks to our gov which had remove the tax from electronics since Sony threatened to move their factory from here and Taiwan place limited Embargo on us since we support the Chinese and didn't allow their president came here. And now!! Geforce 4 Ti is only US$130!! From 300 bucks before!!! Yup!! Too much Taxes. Even Big Fat Mama bought a Logitech Graphic Tablet he saw in a store for only $35. Perhaps we should collect money, buy one and send it to Ghetto Goose to stop him drawing with mouse (Heh...heh...heh...).
Nuff talking, here are my main problems.
Last Friday, my friend invited me. He said: "Hey Bhass. Do you still run your computer Business? We got something for you! My friend want to develop his business and he need person like you."
I said: "Okay! I'll come this evening!". Since Big Fat Mama also in business, i'll took him with me, and both of us went by. We just thought this is another business. Some guys wanna buy computers, we contact our dealers friends, purchased some hardware, assembbled it ourself then sell it. Just nuther "Piece of Cake-2 days finished" business. But everything changed there......
When i arrived there, there were about 4 persons there, all medical students, only me and BFM were technical student. And none of them knew what we are supposed to do there!!! Then half an hour later, my friend showed up with some 30 years old Chinese guy. And that "business meeting" change into Amway Quixtar promotion.
Well suppose you guys know about this, some Multi Level Marketing business opportunity, gaining cash with just 5 hours working a week, 30% discount, 24% profits, an opportunity to be rich blah...blah...blah..
All that too good to be true. And in the end you got 4% profit just by sleeping in your bed. And this guy said: "Quixtar is different than MLM!!!!" Different my a$$!!!!
I pull some string and browse here to find some infos and what i found were totally different then he said. Check this address:
http://www.mlmsurvivor.com/posts/post65.htm
Even one US Army guy there said: "The biggest problem in fort Bennings were Amway Quixtar...." And some parents complaining their sons drop out from college just for Amway!!!!
My question were:
1. Is there any of you ever involved in this MLM business?
2. Do you believe in this MLM?
3. And why lot of Amway/Quixtar member planned to go out from this business? If its profitable?
5. Is that true Bill Gates behind this Amway /Quixtar(just like the promotion said. And why those damn Bill Gates joined MLM! he's already rich!)?
6. What should i do with the offers? I planned to reject it but if you all said it is profitable, perhaps i should reconsider it.
7. Any advice for me?

Personally, i don't trust these thing. If this profitable, why we should we go to school? Why not just stay in home, and browse this site anytime? And in my knowledge, a business with more than 100% profit is impossible to be legal business.

RE: Amway, Quixtar, MLM Business Opportunity..... blah...bla

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't. "Multi-Level Marketing" is just another way of saying "pyramid scheme." By the laws of bad business physics, the profits float to the top and the losses sink to the bottom. I guess they figure that by hauling in some older Chinese dude it will look a lot more official than another person your age pushing the product. Legitimate companies that use underlinings to sell products don't make them purchase the products themselves to sell, rather they simply represent the company and take a cut of the orders they submit back to the central company to be shipped out (e.g. Avon).

I remember I had a friend in high school that was pushing some sort of "pre-paid legal" service that he was involved in. The service itself was good I heard, but the use of high school and college students to push the service for a cut of the profits sounded like a real scheme to me. I opted out. Later I heard from another friend, "Yeah, they all got screwed over by the guy they worked for. They did all the work and he got all the money." Needless to say they felt like slashing someone's tires for that...

Remember, business opportunities don't just pop out of thin air like that, they're earned via connections or by your own business savvy.

RE: Amway, Quixtar, MLM Business Opportunity..... blah...bla

So it means if i got 1000 bucks probably some higher ups got 1 millions!!! So you say i shouldn't joined it? If i join them where should i sell the stuff anyway? I'm not a trader!
And about Bill Gates? It's this true? And is this MLM business legal? I heard they sell cheap stuff because they skipped some taxes, and it's paralegal....

RE: Amway, Quixtar, MLM Business Opportunity..... blah...bla

It depends of the laws in your country. here in Canada the pyramid scheme is illegal, so they call it MLM (same shit different name), if tommorow they change the names of Lada's into Porche it would still be the same crap with a name far enough from Porsche for the copyright laws but close enough that it sounds like a quality product.

As for Amway, the products are just there "for show" and beside they are all crap. Nobody sells the products, you make the money by the "membership" money.
I set you up and charge you 20$ for it, in return i give you permission to set up as many people as you want as long as you charge them 20$, i'm an Ok guy so i'm going to let you keep 5$ for each of these fools, and i'm also going to let you let these fools set up as many people as they want as long as they charge 20$, give you 15$ and you give me 5$( i'm at the top) and so on...
So far if i set up 3 people and they in turn set up a total of 10 persons and they in turn set up 20 persons,
I just made 310$ doing nothing, and if somewhere in this line an idiot decides to sell some of these products, well he really is an idiot, because they money is not made by selling the product.

You get around the law by saying we have the products ready for distribution and we are just setting up our distribution chain.

So the fact is that if you are not on top they are so much money to give aroung that you are not making that much, and you are at the mercy of any idiots under you who decides to collpase his part, or even worse any idiot on top who just takes your money and go for a six months trip to hedonism resort to bang every single girl and/or young latino boy that he can.

I'm a purchasing agent, and i had one of my "friend" (was) call me saying he had amway products for sale and since my position was a position of choice for buying bulk of these product i should (i really like when people tell me what i "should" do) buy from him instead of my regular suppliers and help him make tons of money. Or even better when he tough about it i should (there it is again) join under him, give him money and then buy from myself, wich would make him even more money.
That weasell is now banned from ever calling me again.
