First time out of the vault
Hi all,
in this week i've worked to a graphic mod. It animate all containers such as desks, dressers, boxes etc...

Let me know what do you think about it!!!

Here some example:

Hah, very nice that is! :)

Now that I think of it, some candle burning on an old drawer or something would be cool too. Wouldn't even need that many different frames. One day I'll do that I think...

How many containers you planned to animate baofu92?

Seem wrong to me, as if the perspective isn't right. I think the same is the case for the first, wooden desk.

Wow, looks pretty awesome. Do you have an animated example? I'd love to see them in action

To be fair it is like 200 years old, probably wasn't in the best of shape before some adventurer yanked on it. Might be a bit bent and warped

I'm a huge nitpicker myself as you probably already noticed, but I can hardly see anything wrong with that, Lexx. Will you really stand before them ingame and say "this angle is 2° off, it's not acceptable"?

One thing about this, and it's an imagination thing and nothing to do with your work, but I prefer static desks because in my mind I can imagine rifling through all the drawers frantically looking for items and throwing out trash, but when the drawer actually opens I think "Uhh, it looks empty, what about the other ones?" Kills the mood in my imagination. Like in fallout 3, "Oh, 15 lockers in a group. Better check just one" Probably left behind several gecks and caps and loose women hiding in the unchecked lockers

Just a random thought, carry on

Yes.

The perspective is just wrong, as I have shown above and it's not just 2°.

Now i've understand the error, but i think that during play you will not even notice it..

Exept this... does anyone know how to add a sound when you open the container?

You can do this via script. You will need to make sure a script file is attached to the object in each map, and the script would basically say,

obj_interacted,
play soundfile (filename.acm)

You can link scripts to objects in the object file itself, unfortunately for maps that already have the object the script will need to be added manually for every instance of the object.

If you like, if you provide sound files in ACM I can make the script for them and add them to maps. I plan on including this as optional install in my mod anyway, so doing that extra step is not a problem

Nice work!

A little picky Lexx if you ask me.

I think it looks alright.

And I still think it looks wrong.
Who cares... at least he tried. If you're playing in high resolution you probably won't notice anyway.

Anyone still have the files?
