Annoyances

First time out of the vault
I have been playing this game for 2 weeks now and I'm addicted.
But there are a few annoying quirks that hamper my fun:

1) Pathfinding algorithm is pretty stupid; team members refuse to turn corners, try to reach other party members through impassable barriers or try to reach another party member on the ground from a roof top. Why is the algorithm so weak? Couldn't they have precalculated the nodes, like in Quake 2 max?

2) When playing turn-based combat, at the beginning of my turn, ALL party members are selected, if I accidentally click anywhere, they all start walking in that direction. At other times, only the first party member is selected. What determines the difference? How do I avoid having them all selected?

3) When driving the car in turn based combat, you can issue waypoints to the driver, and nothing happens. You have to click 'End Turn' to see the car move. Why don't the vehicles move in the same turn as the soldiers?

If you found a way to deal with these annoyances, tell me how.

Anybody here play CTB? I tend to get slaughtered if I turn it on during a mission, though it is very useful when travelling between locations.

Do you have formations on or off?

If you want a squad member to do something move them close to the objective before issuing the command, for instance if you want to heal another team member move your first aider close and then issue the command to heal, don't just click on the first aid kit and then the squaddie from a roof top or half the map away. Doing that will make them try and move in a direct line to their target, even if it's blocked off.

Try choosing Individual as opposed to Squad Based TB on the options screen.

Probably something to do with turn based rules covering vehicles. Again try using ITB rather than STB.
