Another weapon mod issue

Anyway I tried to add the M16A1 in game. But at the Temple of Trials where I set the weapon down to give it a test run. The weapon did not appear in hand or inventory at all. It was there but it was invisible. Like I enter combat mode and try to fire it but it doesn't fire at all. And the accuracy is always at 5% or somewhere around there. What did I do wrong that made this error?
 
Common mistake

The player's tribal sprite does not have all animations. Use a different starting sprite that has all animations or maybe place the weapon in Arroyo after the temple so you can test it using the vaultsuit animations.

That should fix at least part of the problem.

I'm intrigued. The M16A1 sounds like it could be a step on the accurate single shot ladder between the Hunting Rifle and the Sniper Rifle... *hands one to Lenny*. With the 5.56 ammo it would also have many tactical applications because of the dual ammo types (at least if you plan on fixing the broken AP ammo). Where in the game are you planning on making it available?
 
I'm not Sniper, but I put the M16a1 into my game, gave it about as much single shot damage as the FN FAL HPFA, and it's available around Modoc if you're a power player character, or at least Vault City.

I think it fits well. I use the M16 inventory file from Tactics, it meshes well with F2 I think.
