Another Weapon Question

Should i only Develop Small Guns, Big guns. Thus completely ignoring Plasma(whatever it is called i forget)-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also.....do you think you should only develop weapons and skip all other of the stats. For example barter, gambling, sneak.

I know alot of people think highly of sneak, but my guy has red sneak, it was at 20% and then it turned red and sunk to 0%. And now he cannot sneak. Anyhow i think this may be a bug in the game. Something that just cripples your Stats for random reasons. Cuz i have no injuriesm, no Drug addictions, no drugs recently used, and he has been traveling like hell....So go fig??

If so Im pretty sure your sneak skill will take a good hit due to the noise metal armor would make. If you absoulutely must sneak that character will probably have to use Leather. Thats been my exp anyway. Hope it helps
 
In my opinion, it is only useful to tag big guns if you have at least 7 str, cause most of the big guns require a high str to wield with the really cool guns needing str of 9.

Ive found that my prefered tags skills are small guns, energy weapons and barter/gambling. Or you could forego energy weapons and take sneak, leaving energy weapons until a later Tag! perk.
 
Gambling, Barter, and Steal aren't worth taking, there are recruits you can get with good Gambling and Steal, and you can always make one a barterer. Sneak i've found to be fairly useless as I'm detected far away even with 101, and you'd really need a good portion of your party sneaking or some serious firepower on your sneaker, usually your sneaker gets shot up before getting a shot off too. I don't like energy weapons so far, but I haven't got to robots yet, I find sniper rifles to be more valuable than energy. Big guns - not a lot of rockets around and they don't really have a good range, The browning is an awsome weapon I chewed up a whole room of mutants at range with only a 33 to hit in one shot, but you need a 9 str or a 6 str and weapon handling perk, also not alot of ammo for it either and the ammo and the gun both weigh a hell of alot. There's the Saw, but it's not that great of a weapon, the pancor jackhammer (small guns) makes it look like a pea shooter. It might be worth taking or converting one of your snipers to it as any recruits I've seen with it don't have Perception above 5, and I think it's a must to be able to hit things at long range with those big guns. Currently I have Jo with big guns, I think that one person with it is plenty, a thrower is also a must, but I've been hearing you can have one of your snipers do it with little or no skill in it.

My PC and two snipers (Rage and Farsight) all have sneak over 100% (in Metal Armor mk II, even) and I use it to /great/ effect. I can sneak up /right/ behind most baddies and blow them away.
Things that help whilst sneaking: crawl, and always remember that darkness is your friend.

you use snipers to sneak behind enemy? I use snipers to sneak on the highest place possible and let them fire at will :) oh yes, and my heavy weapon female is wating for any close encounters nearby ;)

Im on the tank mission, I forget its name, lots of robots and you must save some Reavers.

Me, Laser rifle, plasma gun
Farsight, sniper rifle, FN FAL
Stitch, Pancor Jackhammer (solid slugs) makes mincemeat of robots point blank
Jo, vindicator minigun (only because ive run out of BrowningM2 ammo)
Brian, same as Jo
Rebecca, sniper rifle, FN FAL

I tend to have me Farsight and rebecca sniping from max range with JO and Brian to protect vs rushes and Stitch sneaks around to take care of any ducking cowards. Works a treat for me. Although Im not entirely convinced that energy weapons are the way forward, the Pancor is awesome vs robots up close and the sniper rifles have a longer range than the laser or plasma rifle.

My two cents worth :)
