Anti-Registration...?

First time out of the vault
:eyebrow: I just recently swapped HDD's in my computer, from a 12GB to an 80GB. Thusfore I had to reinstall all of my games.... However, now that Interplay is out of business :badmood: , I can't "Register your product over the internet now" And I am tired of having to Hit "No, Fofeit, No, Forfeit, No, Forfeit, Register Later" Has anyone created a Mod for this, or perhaps could Just tell me how interplay triggers that Registration crap, so I can remove the initial command? BTW: This applies to FO FO2 FOTBOS, and Star Trek Starfeet Command Vol. 2 :wall:
 
Well, if I remember correctly after you hit forfeit the 3rd time, a text box appears. If you type 123 in that box you get rid of the registration stuff. I think it actually says you can do that in the text above the text box.

And I also think this is not the appropriate forum for this.
 
The interesting thing I suspose is:
1) Does the registery thingie run directly from the Fallout2.exe or is it from the CD luancher only? (its been a while since I last had to do it)

2) If it runs from the Fallout2.exe then there must be a call to an extertnal file from within that exe.

3) This call to an external file could be used to automactcaly luanch a separate app first.

Possible uses could be using it to auto-luanch a trainer first perhaps?

You should either downsize the picture in your signature, or replace it with a link - you are sure to run into trouble with that thing.
Anyway, I dig it ;)
 
Downsize it and just type the text in under the image so people can read it perhaps? It is funny though
 
This is a grey area, because it applies to both.

I do believe there is an Interplay registration reminder removal program somewhere, but I can't find it currently, mainly because there are other ways to remove it. No, it wasn't on Interplay's site, either. :)
 
Thanks for your help guys, I think I can take care of the prob now. If not.... I'll be back for more. and I'd like to give a big thumbs up to 'mad' for being the first to welcome me to NMA. Also thanks to WILD_QWERTY, he is a wonderfully helpful guy, and doesnt make me feel like a fool being a n00b to the fallout mod community. Anyway, Thanks for the input on my signature pic, I'll get to work on it now. My next post should load as few KB faster. =)

There we go. Pic downsized an' captioned. Fast no space takey up loading. And if ya look close, you may notice that I made a change to my avatar, hehe. If anyone is interested in the fullscreen version, lemme know. Anyway, I will post back tomorrow to let you guys know if I resolved the registratio issue. Thanks alot for your help. you guys are an invaluable source of information.
