Alright people heres the thing, i'm making a program that has it all, anything any fallout user will want, I will be putting in my own MVE Converter and a program called "Ultimate FRM" if you want to be a part of this can you mail me any projects you have got that contain fallout related stuff, I would prefer it if they were Visual Basic, but C++ or Delphi or anything else would be also accepted. This is no scam! it's the real deal, so we wont have to keep reaching for different programs. If you want to be apart of this contact me.

radx@gamebox.net

Please tell me of your program or just send the project (prefferably with an EXE) Thanku for reading this.......

MVE converter, do you mean FRM converter? The MVE format is a closed movie format by Interplay, that's why the only way to currently view MVE movies is to use a library stub and paste it to the beginning of the movie.

Good luck.

That's probably what he meant. And anyway, it's no trouble opening different programs to edit Fallout 1 or 2, and chances are those programs will be less prone to leaving out small details due to the fact that they concentrate on one area of the game. And what about updating the info for the programs, TMS has already discovered some new offsets in the weapon files to do with night sights, telescopic sights etc. It would be very hard to update all this, and your program would become out dated quickly.

Actually, Xotor, there's a 4,4 Mb program that automatises the process of adding the library ;)

(to be impartial I should mention that it also understands a couple of other formats)

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look people, when i said a FRM viewer and MVE converter i meant it! it's not hard to convert MVE files. and i really wont be intergrating all the projects, the ones i cant use i'll put the EXE in an OLE and activate it when needed. +Plus one more thing, the program wont become out of date, how would it, the others would go out of date as fast as "IT" would. And it's better if you have one EXE open then just select what you want from the menu..

RE: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Attaching a self-executable library to a mve file isn't "converting MVE", you're just creating a self-playing MVE.

A *real* MVE Converter should be able to (at least) convert from MVE to AVI.

RE: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

uhmmm I think he mentioned "converting MVE", isn't that converting from MVE to EXE also? he never said anything like converting MVE to JPG so give him a break :)

As far as it goes, I think it's an intersting idea. Sometimes ago I wanted to make all crucial mod files to one zip.

I failed.

Let someone else try.

I'm just trying to clarify the terms, not trying to insult him! :-)

Could you explain this a little more? Sounds... Interesting

Converters convert one format to another of the same kind of media like a MVE to AVI or MPG converter. What he's creating is a player, not a converter.

I just hope they don't require all those annoying Visual Basic Runtime libraries..

RE: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont worry about the VB Runtime files, those will be included with the insallation file i'm making, the selfplaying EXE wont need any runtime files at all, once it's converted all you need is the EXE. +Plus if I make it convert to AVI do you realise how BIG the files are going to be! there big enough without the AVI codec in them, thats the last thing we need. But. If everybody wants to I could figure out how to do that. An MVE player is hard to make, for now it'll be an MVE converter.

RE: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, thats the key, to find out the format of MVE files, the converter will work for any of Interplay's MVE files, like the ones in Descent-Freespace for example.
Now has anyone got apps to send??
