Anybody waiting for a patch before playing ?

Still Mildly Glowing
I waited for a patch with fo3 and I think I'm going to do the same with FONV. I just hate all bugs and glitches ....anyone else waiting?

Nope! Ill live with the bugs until a patch hits, not gunna take away from my enjoyment of the game while I wait.

BTW Fallout 2 was originally the buggiest piece of crap to ever hit the market before its patch to fix the car, etc. Didn't stop me from playing it either and it ended up being one of the best games of all time.

Dont have to, will have to wait 3 days anyways... the Best Buy thing, where you were able to see "real" playthrough, did show some odd bugs, like levitating clip and minigun, should have been fixed ages ago, but what the heck... Still gonna play it as soon as possible!

It could be that they were playing an older version? Or God Mode bugs? I think that sometimes marketing might use an older version for some reason. I know that on my Fallout Trilogy box, some of the screenshots are definitely from an older version of FO1.

I didn't wait, but I got the PS3 version (which isn't as bugged as the 360 version). The 360 version has a lot of game breakers (I hear), but I've only had the game freeze up on me once in my 6+ hours of gameplay ^_^. Still I'm looking forward to a patch...

I also have the ps3 version and so far only on one occasion has the game frozen and for the bugs ive hardly gave them much thought, certainly no game breaking glitches. I highly recommend buying now, no point in waiting.

So are you still waiting to buy FO3 then? Since none of the patches fixed anything...

The PS3 and 360 versions seem to be about the same. The big thing to keep in mind between those two is that the 360 is going to be getting the exclusive DLC, which actually was not even mentioned that it would be coming to the PC, or maybe that is just a giving that it would be already.

Anyways, by exclusive I am pretty sure we all know that just means the PS3 users will have to wait for a GOTY edition, so tired of all this Exclusive DLC nonsense.

Fortunately for me, I'm not being pestered too badly with glitches. (360 version). I'm kind of happy because there could be all kinds of wonky quest things I'm missing that will be patched in time for my 2nd play through. It will feel like a new game!

... 'cept you lost your save after patching and had to restart (or never played with the patch). I'd never *EVER* want to play Fallout 2 unpatched. Google up the fixes sometime to refresh your memory on how evil some of those bugs were.

This example is actually in favor of waiting, though I doubt any patches released in 2010 would ever think to make similar demands.

I'll wait for the GOTY or whatever edition, which will include all DLCs.

Then I'll buy it, have a bit of fun and then wait for the New Vegas Restoration Project - the one never done to Fallout 3 because the story was FUBAR.

Since NV has solid story and stuff (from what I heard), I hope someone will follow in Killap's footsteps.

I am trying to play but the damn BOSD is occurring every damn time between 3 and 10 mins at most.. to tell you the truth i was able to play 8 mins only once i believe :( .. and i think im running off ideas how to fix it.. seems that nothing works :(.

Sounds like a hardware issue friend. Mind posting your PC specs? Have you installed any mods that mess with the video settings? In my experience BSOD occurs when memory is failing. What is the best game you can run without issue?

funny I remember playing FO2 on my Pentium 90 or something like that, back in the dialup days. I didn't patch it and I don't remember any bugs at all. Not trolling absolutely true.

FO3 and NV on the other hand LOL

thankfully haven't run into any quest breaking bugs that a reload didn't fix (yet) touch wood. i can live with the graphical/clipping glitches

I think i will wait, i had no bugs or glitches until a day ago i saved and as soon as i load the new save file the game crashes.
I can load one old save file but all the new ones make the game crash as soon as i load them.

Reinstalling the game wont help, i even reinstalled my windows and all my drivers because i had not done that in ages.

The darn game just keeps crashing on every new save file i make.

( Got all the updates from steam )

I bought a hard copy version but haven't cracked the case. I'm not explicitly waiting but perhaps subconsciously I am.
