There are two things I adore for my computer more than anything else -Fallout (and its genera)and the Sims. Ive begun to turn the family Sims neighborhood (at least my part of it) into a wasteland, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good source for skins/objects/etc. that would be appropriate. My best source so far is 8 Deadly Sims, but ITS NOT ENOUGH! =o)

Thanks for any help...

Hello and welcome PIPgirl...

I haven't seen any sim mods out there, but if you happen to find any do send them my way (not that I'm a sims fan, although it was fun for a couple of days=.

I'm currently working on a mod for Civ tho, a Fallout mod of course.

RE: Sims

Nah, couldn`t find a thing, i`ll try again soon, but i really don`t think i`ll have much success.

RE: Sims

I've been looking on the 8th Deadly Sim site, and oddly enough there were more than a few items that were IDENTICAL to the tiles available in the Fallout:Tactics editor... hmm... Now if anyone knows of a program that can convert FOT tiles to 3D objects for the Sims I would love to know about it. =o) And thanks for your responses so far guys!

Oh, as far as the fascination with the Sims goes, its a dollhouse for big girls, hehe. Or a sophisticated ant farm. Or a microcosmic study in sociology. Seriously though, I know plenty of guys who rack up more hours than I do with them, and not all of them are young geeklings :).

I played the Sims for awhile, I just enjoyed tormenting creatures under my complete control - I would make a great dictator!!

As a matter of fact Pipgirl, I have delved into the whole object thing with FOT. The perspective of the Sims is identical to that of FOT! I have actually imported a jukebox and a car among other things from the Sims into a Tactics map. Vice-versa is possible too. There is a program you can probably find here that is a sprite-to-gif extractor. That will bring the objects in Fallout into a usable format. You can also use Redviewer to do the same. I'm not sure where to take it from there though. The Sims has a good variety of tools that should make it easy.

RE: Sims

Hey thanks, Im looking into that right now. My Sims neighborhood is just too cheery and congenial - it definitely needs a Fallout makeover. Wish me luck.
