Anyone know when the nvidia 9xxx cards are coming out?

First time out of the vault
Or the newest batch of AMD processors? I was told to wait until they came out before I upgrade and that they'd be released Q4 this year, but I'd like to have a little more information.

Oh, and are the new processors quad-core? I'm behind in my hardware knowledge.

Oh 2, any idea on how much these things will cost?

I tried google. I also tried wiki. With no real keywords besides "new processors" and "9xxx", it's hard to find any conclusive information.

Yeesh. If this topic is that disruptive, you can go ahead and delete it.

Phenom AMD processors at the end of the year, but Penryn Intel processors will likely be first, around november (though only the uberexpensive models at first).

Penryns are codename Wolfdale for desktops (with 6MB L2 cache shared amongst both cores) and Yorkfield for the quadcore (which are just 2 Wolfdales on the same cpu). it chops a lot of inherent latencies in the cpu design nearly in half, but actual increase in performance over a same Mhz Conroe (current C2D design) will only be around 5 to 10% in games. at the same time it decreases power consumption by 10%. it appears to overclock just as well as the oldies, which is good news.

Phenoms on the other hand will likely be 65nm cpus for a while and only become 45nm next year. Phenoms will have 2Mb L3 cache.

the AMD/ATI dx10+ (10.1 or better) cards arent likely to surface before next year. the R700 will support PCI-E 2.0.
