This is going to sound really stupid, but I installed Arcanum and started playing it again. I, for the life of me, can't figure out why I am unable to loot the chest just west of the crash site at the start of the game, or the pile of junk in the cave to the east. This is as far as I've got in the game and I am apparently unable to loot anything that isn't already on the ground. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong here?
The chest to the east says "magickchest" and "unlocked", but no-amount of left clicking will open that sucker, or the pile of junk in the cave.
I'm only using two patches; the official patch (zip titled 1074) and the high-res 1a patch.
