Ashes of Apocalypse for download

Huzzah, downloading now.. playing soon. Full review to come.

Edit: Review probably won't be for a while, there is a Spike Milligan tribute coming on tv in a minute so I'm unlikely to get a chance to play this anytime soon.

I arrived in outpost 21 after leaving border control, excited I decided to check out the town. Looking around I found a lot of quiet people, a few shop owners and plenty of oportunities for a good bit of theft. I found my way into an underground storage facility and was attacked by an unknown stranger, after wasting all of my ammo trying to blow his brains out I ended up in a fist fight... We were equally rubbish at martial arts so the combat lasted a until I finally decided to give up and steal stuff with him around. I then left with him still punching me. Using my newly stolen loot, I made some trades for a small amount of cash, and lots of bullets.

As I looked around I was struck by the incredible cleanliness of the posters, and the apparent avalibility of electricity and satalite television. This all struck me as rather odd, so I left town in search of less green pastures. I found my way into the sewers and had a really hard job swiming through them, the passages are rather thin. Eventually I left the sewers without any excitement, feeling slightly bored I continued my wander.

I stumbled upon an old fallout shelter, which turned out to be a large concrete pipe in the ground.. this was inhabited by a rather hostile man but I took no issues in blowing his brains out. At this point I discovered the true meaning of "Take All" .... I didn't mean to take off his underwear, it just sort of happened...

I trotted off into the wastes again, and was attacked by a strange man, I had no ammo, so lost him by jumping down a small cliff, he didn't follow. I found my way to a junkheap, and a large castle like place. After circling the "castle" a couple of times I decided that the only entrance was sealed shut, so continued my travels.

I crawled into what appeared to be a small town, I forget the name on the signs, but headed straight for the bar. I opened the door, and suddenly...

So ... two thumbs up?

I wasn't expecting much after the screenies I saw. I downloaded it, but thought I' let somebody else test it before I reinstalled Morrowind for that purpose alone.

It was good, but a demo. Needs work, but the finished product could be very good... if they do something about a few little things which spoil the atmosphere (having working powered TV's, and computers littering the slumy areas and the cleanliness some of it).

Oh, and they have to deal with the fact that fistfighting currently doesn't work...
