Ehw, can we stop with this "brib as many reviewers as you can"-stuff? I have a hard time with taking this serious.

I'll stop it when publishers stop flying reviewers out for a free vacation to do the reviews.

Or when the developers threaten to stop letting the critics review their games early if they give them a bad review.

How can they get away with shit like that?

Interestingly the User Score was just 7.9 out of 10, based on 711 ratings - maybe the people here who loved the game should have bombarded Metacritic with high ratings to push the numbers up - even though Zenimax was only interested in the Metascore, which was based on 39 critics. Either way gaming is a cruel business. :|

Bah, seems like yesterday my brain farted. All the errors in the article should be corrected now, hit me up if you find anything else.

No one ever cared about the Metacritic user score to be honest, it's not much of a sample of anything, and can be trolled incredibly easily by just bombarding it with 0s or 10s. At most a higher user score would have pointed out to people enjoying the game more than critics.

Game development in general seems like a really tricky business to stay afloat in. The thing is, all we really have is a tweet to work with. It's not like we've seen the contract or tender options. It's a bummer that success is always tied to metacritic though.

So what makes Metacritic so good?
Are they popular, like, McDonlad's or something? Is some "popularity" making them the best? There are countless of sites that do the very same thing...
If that kind of a deal ever existed, unpaid royalties, then Beth knew how it would end. The irony is that they can't, counting all DLC from Fail3, still compare it to FNV. Go give a homeless guy 5$ to scream 24/7 on some square how FNV is bad and he will do it. Any day, every time. Same thing with "pro critics". It works with Hollywood too. Sometimes I do wonder how do they get credit for it, what makes them so right and someone else wrong.

If a critic like that would try to convince me how F3 is the best game in the whole series, how FNV is bad, while I played them all countless times, then he can literally suck my *****
But if he is able to convince mindless Bethadroned minions, then he wins. He gets paid for how much shit can come out of his mouth. Well sir, have fun with your job then, because some of us don't need intelligence check to see the facts.

But, as I'm saying, it's a clear win for Beth that way. Marketing = profit.
