First time out of the vault
Hi folks!
I thought I'd show you guys two teaser frames out of my short, 5min computer animation (out in October). It's a part of my uni B.Sc. Thesis project, set in a post-apocalyptical environment. Of course it's heavily influenced by Interplay's/Bethesda's Fallout series and thus it features a Powered Armour. Took me several months to recreate, rig and animate the T-51B model from a single close-up and a tiny Interplay's pixel iso sprite sequence we are all familiar with.
Anyway, the first screenplay revision was referring to BoS adventures during the search for the Holy Hand Grenade and would produce a 15-20min-lasting short. It included quite spectacular long range and melee battle with supermutants (crowd simulation and stuff). Unfortunately, the goal soon appeared impossible to be achieved. Well, not within the next ten years, and certainly not single handedly (not to mention student's budget) :P. So the screenplay had to be severely cut and its plot almost completely changed, to at least remotely fit into the designated university deadline (that was missed anyway, due to crazy render times).
I hope you guys will enjoy the pics.
I'll put the full film on Vimeo and possibly Youtube as soon as its finished, and as soon as I get the permission from my university to do that.

Realise it's a wip. But switch materials on the shoulderpad bolts. They are too shiny.

Other than that. Nice. Perhaps work on the lighting a bit?

Hi.
Thanks for feedback and sorry for such a late reply. I've been busy tweaking stuff in post-production. Unfortunately it's too late for any tweaks in the textures department as all the renderings have already been completed and my fan movie is ready to go. Just waiting to defend my project in front of the uni commission, or however its called in English. Wish me luck...

Made it! Today I've managed to defend my Bs.C. thesis! Yay! Although the defence had a lil' bit different flow than I would've expected. Rushed by the commission I couldn't even present my slides and comment on them properly. And I had so many things to talk about... Really.
Anyway, Now that I have a little bit of free time, I'll make some corrections to the animation and ask Bethesda Softworks, LLC for permission to publish my fanfilm over Internet. I hope they'll be cool about it. :prays:
