On my suggestion that if someone should hijack a plane they could at least kill Bush.
As I SAID: I DO NOT approve of terrorism. But I also do not like the USA. What's wrong with that? I DO NOT have anything against americans in general,I just don't like how things are governed over there. If you think that it "anti-american", you do so. I didn't write anything as a joke. Well, the Bush part maybe. When I wrote it I hadn't gotten the picture clear. We hadn't recieved all the available information and (at that moment) I thought it was much smaller than it really was.

No, for killing them without a fair trail. If you do something without thinking (like punishing someone just to punish them) people will think that you always react like that and they will loose respect.

They did shot down a spy plane didn't they? (OK it was unmanned and everything but it shows that they got the balls to do something)

OK, some of it made no sense. I just wanted to paint a picture of what would happen if all of the USA's enemies would team up against the US. I just tried to warn you. Violence i´sn't always the best answer.

That "tagged along" with the message above. I mean that I know people that has been in a bomb shelter when th bombs were falling and that I myself don't think it seems like a great thing.

And as I said, (and always do) enough with the irony. If someone doesn't like what I do because it's tacky, I will stop. Like I did with the irony part.

Can't we all just get along? Well, obviously not.

People, let's just try to end this now. Both Kilroy and Xotor have valid points, let's try to recognize them. Yes we have to do something about this, and yes we have to be careful. Obviously American political policy is one of the reasons this happened, but that in no way either means that the USA is evil or that the act was justified. Let's try to make this message board an example to the rest of the world.

Thank you Pretender. I hope Xotor understand what I'm trying to say.
I think what has happened is really stupid and horrible but I don't think that the best response is to go out and kill people or bombing them.
Good night.

Kilroy, you don't seem to recognize that if we don't do something, we're doing the equivilant of walking into Terrorist High School with a KICK ME sign on our asses! I want to know what you think we should do, smart guy. And this better be better than your stupid arguement about how that anarchist in Genoa being killed wasn't justified.

You go from "build a monument and move on" to this? NOW you call for action? Maybe you are going to grow up someday...

And Kilroy... THINK before you post next time. Maybe then you will realize that you are posting a bunch of bullshit many times over.

Oh and PS: This is not the time to say anything about the American Government. Right now we have more Patriots who are willing to go and give their lives for their country than we have had in a long long time. Again please attempt to think...

I haven't said that, although I feel that building a monument is a fine thing. People have confused me with William before(I wonder why?) so don't feel embarrased if you did. By the way Pretender, if you want the board to quiet down, then get Kilroy to shut his trap and realize what he's been saying on these boards is like pouring salt on an open wound.

That quote means something... (Possible Evangelion Spoiler)

[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Sep-14-01 AT 01:48AM (GMT)[p]I thought I'd explain my sudden change in signature. Besides the fact that "Wouldn't It Be Nice If Everyone Would Just Die?" isn't exactly appropriate at this time, I felt the multiple meanings of that quote might serve as a warning (possible spoiler): The statement is from the anime movie End Of Evangelion, the finale of the Neon Genesis Evangelion series (I happened to be watching it the night before the madness started. The statement is made by Rei Ayanami, (who says an incredible ammount of eliquent things throughout the series and movies) and signifies both the possibility of a better world (maybe this event will make the U.S. rethink its policies), and the possibility of an apocalypse (it would be quite easy for this situation to get out of hand, and possibly turn nuclear). I'm trying to be like Rei right now. For those of you unfamiliar with Neon Genesis Evangelion (possible spoiler), Rei is always calm, Zen, and in control of herself, while those around her are going nuts. She is, IMHO, the greatest character in any Anime ever (if anyone doesn't believe me, go here: http://www.ayanami.nu), and is one of my role models. In this situation, I think we all need to calm down, and just be Zen for a little while. I try to be Zen at all times, but I can only be Zen for so long... Will... haven't you noticed that you are the one making all of the noise...

Not really. Will's about as fed up as some others here.

Plus, I do think Raven has Will mixed up with William, it's been done before.

Kilroy as of late has just been opening his mouth to change which foot resides within. First with the 'rioters can do whatever they want and not suffer any consequences - and all cops are bad' bullshit, then with a REALLY piss-poor off-color remark. Since he doesn't care about bad taste (and I mean that's REALLY in piss-poor taste right now), I'll just save Xotor a bit of time.

Here's another clear picture, Kilroy. This shit isn't funny.
Your ass is gone.

God I'm posting a lot...

You're probably right. We all have our own way of dealing with incidents like this, some of which are appropriate, some of which are not. I'm not saying everything Kilroy said was right, I'm not saying Will is the only one being a problem. I'm just saying that this is a time for us all to put aside our differences and try, as I have said before, to be an example. I've seen this community unite before, can't we do it again?

Hell, a double post, but I'll take advantage of it.

Hey Pretender, sorry if I've been a problem to you, but I take offense at someone taking advantage of a tragedy of this magnitude to spew anti-American rhetoric. This is not the time for that.

RE: God I'm posting a lot...

Some have, including sending links to aid organizations (most of which are already put up).

The way is to help together, not make crass pokes at each other.

RE: WTF Will?

Yes I am... I feel badly. I had no right to insult you by mistaking you for Willy TO. Here have an olive branch. We are now friends.

I have no problem with the monument idea but I do have a problem with him using it as a sarcastic joke. If there is a time for sick jokes about the misfortune of others, this is not it. For this reason (and the personal tradgey that almost happened to my family) I have been bashing any whom are making light of this situation. Anything that keeps the anger from spilling into the streets...

RE: God I'm posting a lot...

Right, i have been in contact with an American women from Pittsburgh. I know her a long time and besides the acts i do here in my own country (donating blood), i stay in contact with her just to extend a digital shoulder, so to speak. A person to talk to. Giving her an opportunity to get some things of her chest and to reassure her that it will all work out.

Olive branch accepted, Raven.

I don't give a flying fuck if you don't like the USA. You were making light of an extremely dire situation from some unfounded negative sentiments you have towards the USA and Bush. Terrorism in ANY nation is just that, terrorism, and to make light of it in ANY fashion is a falacy.

"Loose" respect? I hardly think the USA will *lose* respect for putting down an international terrorist group responsible for over three major attacks on innocents.

Oh WOW! AN unmanned spy plane. SHEYUCKS! Iraq has NO power in the international scene. Our sanctions ALONE have put Iraq in very bad shape, and if we chose to, we could level the entire country. They're not a threat to anyone.

Team up against us for what? Let me put this whole situation into perspective for you. The whole WORLD was disgusted by this act of terrorism on innocents with exception to a few disians in disgruntled nations. Leaders of Lybia, Syria, Iran, and even CUBA condemned the actions of these terrorists and now we have the backing of both Pakistan and India to launch assaults on Osama bin Laden from their countries. We have practically the entire planet united behind this cause.

You think your tasteless "humor" is "ironic?" It was probably the farthest thing from "irony." Irony would be if the terrorists accidentally rammed their planes into each other, killing only themselves. Some stupid comment about killing Bush intead of the people in the WTC is just plain tasteless. Get a clue.

The last thing New Yorkers want on that spot is a monument. It is interesting, I've talked to a New Yorker, and he said that if a new WTC was built in that spot people would gladly go back in it despite the stigma of the attack. The same sort of thing happened after the 1993 bombing. People went right back to work the next day without any sort of reservations (or maybe just a few). Building a monument on that spot is essentially saying "you tore it down, and we're just going to mourn its loss."

That isn't to say that something dedicated to the people who lost their lives shouldn't be put up, but just a monument is a waste of space.
