Bad performance in Tactics - why?

First time out of the vault
I'm playing Fallout Tactics on a:

Athlon XP 1800+
512 mb pc133 RAM
GF 4 4200 128 mb
Windows XP
Soundblaster 5.1 Live

All of the above helps the framerate in UT2003, GTA Vice, SoF2 to stay very satisfying on max detail and resolution, but Fallout Tactics runs with a very bad performance.
(At 1024*768, max detail,...)
I have tried to lower the resolution, but it dosen't change anything. It's not like it's unplayable, but at times it lags (in singleplayer), and - having my PC specs. in mind - it's really annoying.

So - does Tactics just have this poor performance, or is there any way I can get it to work like a charm?
 
It converts (or whatever it does) the game files, so you don't have to use the program itself with the game. I never had any problems with it. Also be sure that you're running the latest (1.27 I think) game version.

Also be sure that you're windows is configured well. You can find many info on how to get everything from... well from everything on Tweak3D.

Btw: (and now for something completely different)

How do I gamble? I press the gamblebutton and it looks like the barter-screen, but instead of money, it's those ring-pulleys-thingies...
I drag the item I want to 'buy' onto the table, and drag something from my inventory with the same value in rps., then I press the gamble-button, and he gets all my stuff - why?
 
Hmmm, my performance is still quite laggy... In fact - it didn't help at all.

Do you guys also have this poor framerate compared to other games?

No response? So: Either all of you suffer from the same performance-problem and have decided to silence it away, or I am the only one in the entire world with this...

It's a code thing.
FOT lags on my machine too, and it's equivalent with yours (a tad better really).

FOT will never scroll / run smooth, the code is way too messed up for that....and FOT Booster didn't help at all :/
