Badges...

Water Chip? Been There, Done That
I was just reading a few of the old comments and someone suggested seperate slots for armor E.G a slot for a helmet, legs, boots, gloves, torso etc... Well, I was thinking, what about a place where you could pin a badge E.G. a sheriff's badge. That way, in Fallout 3, maybe you could help the police in a small town and become the sheriff or something, then you could pin the badge on your chest, then everywhere you went, people would see the badge and go "Oh, he's a good guy" and they might come up to you and ask for your help. Likewise, if you join a bunch of raiders you could get a badge from them. Wearing it around would make criminals and theives respect you but would make good people run away or something. Any suggestions???

Sounds a cool idea! I would like to get medals from the military or more tatoo's showing your alliegiance.
I would like to have some proof of all the work I do. It would be sweet to have an archive of all of your work that you done over the game.

Now medals from the military, that's a GREAT idea!! You could become like some really respected character and show off your medals to people and they might get you to help them or something.

Wow

That oppens the game up to a lot of possibilities. Not only could you show off your kills, you could also easily pretend to be someone more important than you really are. Wow.

*Quick, I must think of something to turn the topic of the post away from Fallout Online before things have a chance to get ugly...*

Not every town has a badge of merit to give...

"Hooray, you've blown up our outhouse! As a reward, please accept this wierd, oozing fruit..."

(oops, psycho ranting again... :-))

if you join a military group you could get bronze star..medal of honor,...etc...i like it...alot...its a very imaginative idea i think...id love being able to go around in combat armor with a meritous service award attached to it

This has got to be one of the best ideas I've seen in a long, long time. 'Nuff said.

Hey, I was replying to a post about FOOL... Where'd the bastard go?

Well, it happened to one of my posts, Rock-in-a-Sock responded to it, and they removed it, so it just looked wierd.

(I was just saying this, it would be pointless to respond, so don't)

To a certain extent, Karma already performs the function of good vs. evil indicator based on your actions in the game. If you dig up graves, "Grave Digger" is added to your Karma and you are despised by nearly everyone. Anyway, here is a link to info about Karma: http://fallout.gamestats.com/fallout2/chars/karma_01.shtml

I think badges could be an interesting addition to Karma, because you could have a "hero" Karma, but wear a Slaver badge (even though that's also a Karma trait) which might allow you to infiltrate a Slaver group--except for that forehead tattoo thing...

cheers

in addition, no one can watch on your face how is your karma. NPC can watch your badges.

Badges are good idea. About military medals, you could also have suits(uniforms). Necklace (in FO2 it was not funny, i couldnt wear Khans'necklace. You know, Khans at the south of Vault City)

Yeah, I think it's kind of stupid when some officer attacks you because you killed a child in a town 500 miles away two days ago.
