[font size=1" color="#FF0000]LAST EDITED ON Apr-05-01 AT 09:03PM (GMT)[p]Hi, all! Backaroo and ready for action... well not really, I just found a really old story that I had laying around on my disk.

----

This is the story of my third run through Fallout 1. This time, i decided to play an evil character. I took notes of happenings during the game, but I've taken some liberties to make the story fit. My character was called Blunt. He's quite ugly, and he finds out in his journey that... well, you'll have to read on to find out. He's not especially smart, but he can take a load of damage, and has his way with guns like he's trained from birth. His beginning stats are as follows:

ST: 8
PE: 6
EN: 7
CH: 1
IN: 4
AG: 7
LU: 4

He's tagged Small Guns, Big Guns and Melee, and he has Heavy Handed and Bruiser as his traits.

Well, on with it then...

05 Dec 2161 07:01

I'm Blunt and I'm writing this on this computer. The Vault doors just closed behind me, I'm on my own now. The Overseer said I should write logs about what I do, so that if the Vault sends out more people, they might find this and know a little more about what they should do when they're Outside. I don't think that'll happen though. I think I can find a water chip. I'm brave and strong, the Overseer told me that himself. The Overseer is a kind man. And the pistol I've got should scare away anything that stands in my way, and if it doesn't run, I can shoot it. I'm good with shooting. I've practised a lot at the shooting ranges in the Vault.

07:03

A large rat just jumped out from the shadows and bit me. I shook it off, but as I raised my pistol to it, I remembered what the Overseer said: "Conserve ammunition when you're Outside. Use your knife mostly." so i holstered my pistol and pulled the knife. I'm quite good with knives too. It's probably because I'm so good at fighting that the Overseer picked me for finding the Water Chip. So I charged the rat, it was almost as big as my foot, and it was wheezing at me with its yellow teeth. I drove the knife down into it with all my force and hit it right in the back. The knife went right through. Its eyes bulged out. It was impaled on the ground. It squirmed wildly, until it finally fell down, dead. I yanked the knife out of it. Killing it was funny. I got to be strong, when I'm Outside. I must kill without fear. Who knows what monsters may walk out there. When I get out of these caves, I'll go east, towards Vault 15. The Overseer hopes I'll find a water chip there.

07:20

The sun is so bright. I could stare at it for hours, but I gotta concentrate. I'm on an important mission. The Overseer relies on me.

I killed a lot of rats in the caves, at least fifteen, and I didn't get more than a few grazes. The last rat was much easier to stab than the first one. It seems like I'm being hardened. I think that's a good thing. I'll look at the map in the computer now. It's time to plan my course to Vault 15.

10:27

I've been walking for hours along the map's path, and I'm taking a small rest now. It's so strange, just walking and walking, in the sand and in the gigantic mountains, in the strange light. My eyes are hurting. I'm not used to this.

12:05

The Outside is so hot. I've taken off my Vault shirt, and I'm walking bare-torsoed now. Not that it helps much. I've already drunk half of one of my three canteens, and I'm less than a tenth of the way to Vault 15. I need to ration.

12:45

I see some big and brown things not far from here. They look like they're walking around. I've never seen something like that. The Overseer said that I'd find strange animals, maybe that's what these are? I'll pull out my pistol and go closer. They're not friendly, I bet.

13:15

They weren't friendly. The deep scars I've got all over my body can prove that. My hands hurt so much it's hard to write. I'll try to tell how i fought those critters now. As I snuck closer to them I noticed they looked a lot like ordinary rats, only they were browner and much much bigger. There were three of them, they probably weighed at least 200 pounds each, and their fangs looked like they could chop off a man's arm in one bite. I was hiding in some bushes, deciding what I should do, when one of them noticed me. It uttered some squealing grunts and started running towards me. I tried to keep calm, remembering my training, but I felt that my hands shook.

I raised my 10mm Colt. It felt just the way it felt in training. I aimed and fired. The bullet hit the monster in the side, but it was barely staggered and kept running towards me with blood leaking from its thigh. By now the two other monsters had noticed me too, and they bared their fangs and ran towards me. I continued loosing shots at the first monster. I couldn't see where the shots fell, but by the fourth bullet the monster was sprawled on the ground.

I aimed towards the other two beasts, and I killed one of them before the last one was at me. It bit and clawed viciously, and my arm was cut up. I lashed out punches at the beast, while i reached for my knife. I don't remember much else, other than that I slashed wildly in front of me and covered my face with my other arm. I took some bites, but when i opened my eyes again the beast was in front of me, dead.

I see what a wimp I was now. I gotta man myself up. I can't survive on luck. The Vault counts on me. Those giant rats were probably not the toughest I'll encounter out here. I reload my gun and continue walking. I don't care about the flesh wounds. They'll heal over time. I gotta spare my stimpacks.

21:40

I just made up camp for the night. I'll do a combat sleep, so I won't be surprised by anything. I'll sleep out in the open, in the bedroll I carried with me. I've made up a fire. The gun is next to me.

06 Dec 2161 07:48

I'm packed up and ready to go.

11:51

It's getting hot again. I'm sweating. I'm soon halfway to Vault 15. This was easy.

13:10

I see a village, or something! It's not far away. A village means people. I'm not good with people. They say I'm ugly. They don't want to talk to me, except the Overseer. The Overseer is kind. I'll have to go to the village. They might have water. But they might attack me too. Maybe they're mutants. When I was a little kid, the Overseer told stories about mutants. How they lived Outside, and that's why people shouldn't go Outside. But i can shoot them if they attack me. I can take them.

Stay tuned for part 2! (Possibly)

Shh... can't talk too long.. I've only got fifteen minutes until my guards find out that the guy dancing in the tub is a decoy..I'm still on citywide Net.Ban. "Enjoy your vacation, they said...without the Net, they said...you'll have fun, even if i have to kill you to do it, they said.."

Any ways..that's really, really, really intensely wonderful stuff you got there!! Whoohoo!! Loove the POV. Please tell me you'll finish this...It's so grdfn' unique and well-written!!! I'm waiting (impatiently) for the next part(s). :)

You liked it? Cool! You might wanna check out 'The Story of a Psychotic Loon' and 'A New Story' by Jim Bob then. They're back there somewhere... pages 5 or 6 maybe.
