Borderlands 2

Nope.

I'm not sure where popular opinion falls on the first one, but I enjoyed Borderlands for what it was. Was I blown away? Hell no, but I got a fun co-op experience in a world that was basically one giant sex joke with a fun visual style and a few memorable characters scattered around. So yeah, I'm probably going to pick this one up too when it comes out.

Also, if you haven't seen it yet-

The first game was a fun romp, not much more if you ask me. The DLCs were pretty damn good, however. Here's hoping the story is as crazy as the one in, say, Ned's Zombie Island, rather than the absolute bore that the overly self-serious story of the main game was. But since there are already reports of a guy who built a H shaped space station blotting out the sun or somesuch, I guess we don't have much to fear on that front.

Also, I really hope it plays less like an endless grind. After levels 15 or something I stopped playing for quite some time because it was just ''go there, kill X number of identical enemies, search for red chest, repeat for hours upon hours''. I took months to eventually finish it.

Meh, if there's nothing better to play (which is likely). From the trailer it looks like they're going for "more of the exactly same", though can't say I blame them.

What is a bit sad is that the new characters look from the trailer like almost carbon copies of the old ones with only minor changes. Kinda meh.

Also, the "music" in the trailer was awful.

There will be split screen though, the feature which I haven't seen in game industry for a loooong time :D

Huh? Doesn't, like, every console shooter ever have splitscreen? Cause that's what Borderlands is...

Unless you mean on PC, then yeah it's a bit more rare, but for example the recent comeback of the goo' ol' Sam had that feature in its best traditions.

Yeah, I had PC gaming in mind, wasn't aware of Sam though. Still remember playing Lotus 3 on split screen ~15 years ago :)

I enjoyed the first one to a point. I put in quite a few hours on it at a friends (he's a gaming junkie, multiple TVs, PS3s and games for gaming days with friends) but it wasn't a game I'd have bought on my own. So a sequel doesn't excite me. Games like Borderlands and Dead Island, no matter the story, to me are rather mindless hack n slash, shoot 'em romps that wear thin too fast with little replay appeal.

Story? What story? The entire game basically amounts to "These poor schmucks stand between you and a better gun, are you gonna put up with that?"

I hope they add new elements. But I'd most likely stick with a revolver that fires exploding bullets.

hahaha i have to login to youtube to see the trailer, i almost pissed myself.

The only inappropriate thing in that trailer was the music.

I was being generous but there is a basic story. As I recall, you worked for some company that abandoned you there. Then it became the shoot 'em up fest. Most games have a basic story. Whether or not it's a good one is another matter entirely. But even an good one can be ruined by boring, repetitive game play.

Nero laying down the wub wubs to much for you?

Electronic is my genre but this dubstep is joust ridiculus.
Or maybe im joust getting old.

BTW why is it called dubstep?

Every character has his own story and motivations which are not explaned in the game. Brick is looking for his little sister, Mordecai is trying to prove his skills after he was disqualified from a shooting competition, Lilith is trying to find other sirens so she can get answers and Roland is a rouge crimson lance soldier who wants revenge.

As for the gameplay what do you expect to do whith all those guns.

The Dub is the use of dubbing other songs and the Step comes from the bit just before the wub wub, sorry wobble base. I think anyway, it's actually been around since the early 2000s, just wasn't as popular and mostly just around London.

Unlike Syndicate I think the Dubstep actually works for Borderlands, at least they didn't use Invaders Must Die.

I see it for what it is - a pathetic attempt to appear relevant by using mainstream hipster music. I think the classic rock/country of the original fit the wasteland-like setting way better.

To clarify, I don't think dubstep is that horrible as a genre, but I do find the attempts by the big industries to stick it in whenever they find a chance rather silly.
