According to a newspost at the Bourgeoisie website a large update looms right around the corner:
A storm is coming to the wastelands. Soon the winds shall reveal what awaits you in the world of Bourgeoisie. We'll bury you under a hail of new graphic art and screens, a full description of the world and the plot and additional information about the engine we're using. We're preparing some new sections that will help you delve into the game's climate and also a few surprises. Update coming soon, stay tuned.
There are also some concept sketches:

To be honest, those screens really turn me off. I liked the first engine screens with wrecked fiats and postt-apoc buildings, scorched land, but the sketches with b00bs and unpractical , high-tech armours as well as cheap anime-style mechs showing up all the time makes me sick. This was the project I was really looking forward to, but I fear it'll be some fobos like "look, I have power-armour, I am cool" style of game. Sorry, if my words seem too harsh, but at the moment I feel really pissed off about this game.

The hazard suit looks very good, though.

Nope Kamaz...

I cant explain that... because of my english.
Be patient and wait for more info.

Kamaz- At the beginning I would like to thank you for giving us feedback about the thing.
Everybody has a different style of playing and for everybody have to be something interesting in the game. If you don’t want to use mechs or power armors, then you just don’t use them. The game offers you a lot of different solutions of wining a battle, so you are not forced to use those huge robots or power armors.
Sting in a mech is really cool, but referring to what I have written previously, not necessary to complete the game. We constructed the whole “Mech Project” in a way that it is:
a) Hard to get one (I am thinking about a mech)
b) Power armors and mechs have some disadvantages and they can not be used in every situation.
About the style of drawing. Well, what kind of drawing style do you like? If you want to see a mech in a different style so just name it. We will see what we can do. Maybe this will convince you to the project.

I like pic with figure in anti toxin or radiation suit. It's very moody. If someone decided to colore it some more shading would be nice. It's great anyways.
As to mechas ... hmmm, if you realy have to have one there appleseed-ish style is way to go if you ask me ;)

But I'd agree with Kamaz in general view.

Characters from pics try to look cool but the thing is they do it porly. They're like badasses wannabes from low budget b grade sci fi movie ... if you know what I mean.
And that figure in toxic/radiation suit doen't pretend to be cool and therefore it's realy cool because it's ... hmm ... natural.

Of course I do realise it's matter of tastes so don't take it too seriously.

Well, if I were in your shoes, I'd love to flame such fucktard as me since it is not so much constructive criticism or feedback as pointless whining. On the other hand, I understand you have to keep up the good PR image:). Well, just bear in mind I have done a game too and I know very well how it is when someone dares to "give objective feedback" on it. I get very upset me myself.

To clarify - I dont want you to take in consideration my opinion since it is your game and you are the ones who work hard on it, so you are to develop the feeling, the setting, the design, not me, so you opinion do matter whilst mine is like tiny waterdrop compared to whole cloud.

Its just that I really hate mechs in whole. I find it not very good idea to build mech for combat. Its clumsy. You know how hard it is to teach walking for a robot? And walking on non-homogeneus surface? Avoid obstacles? And even then, the speed of this colos is so small, I can hardly think of any purpose it could be suited for. Instead, I would think of big-wheeled (low-pressure or solid material) tanks with design borrowed from Pathfinder (that explorer on the mars). Allmost the same may apply to power-armours, though, in this case they are much realistic possibilities. But seeing it on every other freakin' guard in FO2 was pretty lame, its very sophisticated technology and it aint cheap thing. Those should be rare. Plus, I would use some new materials instead of old-fashion metal plates.

And how about reaction? Every bum, seeing walking car-height deathmachine - powerarmoured guy or even worse, mecha, should flee in horror. You might be lucky if you ever see a single power-armoured guy in a game, not killing them like flies towards the end. But most likely you'd never see one, as you'd never find a working suite.

Now, I guess, you can plainly see that my wishes cannot be fulfilled in your game and I did not even consider that. Just my very own opionion on the whole thing. What drawing style would I like to see? Realistic. Fantastic, but realistically fantasic. That the drawing can convince me this thing can be real and it can actually move. It has electric motors here, here and here, the high pressure hidraulic pumps right there, here and over there one too. And so on. But again, thats just because you asked, I woul never ask you to take it into serious consideration anyways.

To conclude - I am very tired of fantastic, effective, cool-looking movies, computer games, so I just dont like them. I would like to see actual , realistic apocalypse with ruined houses, quickly made shelters, simple and rough weaponry, crippled vehicles (and not some power-boosted fire-arms equipped buggies, oh God, do I hate them..), some realistic look. And, for Gods sake, no MUTANTS. Any mutant would most likely die rather than survive and I really, really hate zomby-like ghouls as well as super-powered large-as-a-car super-mutants. They'd be sick, weak and dying specimens, not healthy bastards.

Kamaz- And that’s what I like! A fully developed answer with arguments and justified opinions. Mostly you are right (especially with these “critical opinions”) but they are necessary for us to develop. They are like a boundary for us saying: “hey! People have some doubts about what you are doing. Think about it one more time”. And to tell you the true I am taking your opinion seriously. Please monitor this topic, because probably such realistic mech will appear here.
Once again. We do take all opinions under consideration. We want to know, what you don’t like and what you adore. The game is for you guys, for long hours of playing, and we want you to have fun with it.

Ps. Mechs won’t be like giants. We are planning to make them smaller, like 3m high, just not to change the game into an mega-battle between such monsters.

We really do like polite and well explained opinions. If you have anything that is interesting to say, feel free to do it, even if it would be criticism.

So you gonna love Bourgeoisie.

Dont tell me that ALL of stuff that we add to Gallery ist *cool-looking-fantasy-shit*.

That Mech from picture is ONE in game, if you gonna see history of it... you will change your mind.

Sorry for my english...

I don't see what's wrong with making the power armor very stylistic. As kamaz points out, these things are likely to get a very fearful reaction-- and that's the point. When making armor, you not only want to make it protect you from damage, but intimidate the enemy. Style in the game also makes it so much more fun. :-D I remember when playing fallout how badass i felt wearing the black leather armor. (Side note: Wouldn't I melt?)

The thing i think people are griping about is that from the shots released, it seems that everyone in the game must have power armor. That would be unrealistic, nonsensical, and frankly, stupid. After the bombs drop, every dick and jane aren't going to come out of their shelter or wherever they were with hulking power armor.

As per the mutants, i agree that you guys shouldn't have zany mutants in every city. It would be kind of cool, however, if you portrayed the 'mutants' as nothing more than horribly disfigured/ugly regular people. :-D
