Kamaz- At the beginning I would like to thank you for giving us feedback about the thing.
Well, if I were in your shoes, I'd love to flame such fucktard as me since it is not so much constructive criticism or feedback as pointless whining. On the other hand, I understand you have to keep up the good PR image
. Well, just bear in mind I have done a game too and I know very well how it is when someone dares to "give objective feedback" on it. I get very upset me myself.
To clarify - I dont want you to take in consideration my opinion since it is your game and you are the ones who work hard on it, so you are to develop the feeling, the setting, the design, not me, so you opinion do matter whilst mine is like tiny waterdrop compared to whole cloud.
Its just that I really hate mechs in whole. I find it not very good idea to build mech for combat. Its clumsy. You know how hard it is to teach walking for a robot? And walking on non-homogeneus surface? Avoid obstacles? And even then, the speed of this colos is so small, I can hardly think of any purpose it could be suited for. Instead, I would think of big-wheeled (low-pressure or solid material) tanks with design borrowed from Pathfinder (that explorer on the mars). Allmost the same may apply to power-armours, though, in this case they are much realistic possibilities. But seeing it on every other freakin' guard in FO2 was pretty lame, its very sophisticated technology and it aint cheap thing. Those should be rare. Plus, I would use some new materials instead of old-fashion metal plates.
And how about reaction? Every bum, seeing walking car-height deathmachine - powerarmoured guy or even worse, mecha, should flee in horror. You might be lucky if you ever see a single power-armoured guy in a game, not killing them like flies towards the end. But most likely you'd never see one, as you'd never find a working suite.
Now, I guess, you can plainly see that my wishes cannot be fulfilled in your game and I did not even consider that. Just my very own opionion on the whole thing. What drawing style would I like to see? Realistic. Fantastic, but realistically fantasic. That the drawing can convince me this thing can be real and it can actually move. It has electric motors here, here and here, the high pressure hidraulic pumps right there, here and over there one too. And so on. But again, thats just because you asked, I woul never ask you to take it into serious consideration anyways.
To conclude - I am very tired of fantastic, effective, cool-looking movies, computer games, so I just dont like them. I would like to see actual , realistic apocalypse with ruined houses, quickly made shelters, simple and rough weaponry, crippled vehicles (and not some power-boosted fire-arms equipped buggies, oh God, do I hate them..), some realistic look. And, for Gods sake, no MUTANTS. Any mutant would most likely die rather than survive and I really, really hate zomby-like ghouls as well as super-powered large-as-a-car super-mutants. They'd be sick, weak and dying specimens, not healthy bastards.
