When I went with a caravan to the brotherhood of steel, they just let me in (after I unlocked the door) and accepted me as an inititate. I didn't have to do the glow-quest thing Never had that before, maybe it's cause of my stats or just a bug.
well, what I found mostly interesting was that they didn't even offered the quest to the glow. he was already letting me in, only the door stayed locked. So i just took out my lockpick and openend the door
