Buena Vista - Generators are invincible!

I've destroyed the power plant and killed one hell of a lot of robots. The problem is that the power nodes can't be destroyed! I've tried shooting at them and explosives - how do you blow these things? I managed to destroy one once, but I reloaded the game and didn't figure out what happened. Do I just need to hit them a LOT, or is there a console that I need to use?
 
You have to destroy the nodes simultaniously. All six of them together otherwise they will repair themselfs.
