For all the comments on it being so useful, I'm thinking I made a mistake not choosing Steal instead of Barter...
Anyhow, my people have just reached lvl 6 and I'm wondering what combination of perks to choose. Some perks, I've noticed benefit the entire squad - "Scout" on Rebecca works for everyone... But few of the NCPs can choose the better perks thanks to lower stats on needed areas. So no "Better Ranged Damage" for them! So what's better after that?

Do duplicate perks work cumulatively - i.e. more than one Ranger?

My team so far - I think this is the best combo - is:

Main Char w/ Gifted and Fast shot. High CH. Sm. Guns, Traps (those mines are worth good cash), Barter. "Comprehension" added.

Farsight with "Nightvision" (she's one kick ass sniper! Wish she could get bonus damage!)

Stitch has Quickpockets (maybe bad choice) and "Gambler" (now at 119) - so he's already tapped on his lvl 6 choice)

Rebecca - Gotta love her! Covers my weak spots if science ever becomes an issue.

Jo - I gave her "Awareness" to make up for getting rid of Rage. She can get "Stunt Man." Is that any good?

Trevor - Gave him Here and Now on accident so he's the highest level char, but he now has Night Vision as well. Is there ever anyone that can throw as good?

OK, comments? Suggestions?

Also, can you save up your perks for getting more higher level perks, or can the game only handle one perk available at a time so that you lose your old perk points?
 
you can hold off on the perk for at least two levels but not sure if it's like fallout 2 where you can choose more or not.
any perk that you can choose more than once i.e. swift learner. will work for the whole team. so if you have six people with the swift learner perk thats 30% extra experience for the whole team.
I always take awarness, ghost, silent running and silent death, I like to be sneaky. :)
 
Yeah, I definitely like to sneak and snipe. Silent running is a tempting option for Farsight right now.

Is there a recruit that has steal tagged?
 
Yeah a disgusting looking ghoul named "Babs"
you get her/it after Quincy
 
Also Rage, who you can get after mission 1, but requires a
Charisma of at least 6, possibly more.

The stunt man perk is pretty useful once you get to the robots as they use alot of explosives/rocket launchers so it can save you alot of damage.
