Bunker Delta, before Newton, mysterious trigger

Gia Thai

First time out of the vault
I read in a topic: there's a trigger in Bunker Delta map, control random encounter. Is it there? and what does it do?

I'm curious.

Can anyone answer that? :?:

There are triggers controlling the random encounters in the first four bunkers.

The first turns on the beastlords, second turns on the supermutants, third turns on the reaver encounters, fourth the robots.

In bunker delta after Newton there's also a trigger to turn off the reavers since they're now friendly.

Ah, thank a lot.

So... if I want to 'harvest' reavers, best not left until after Newton then.

Currently I'm trying out a super charismatic Leader: 10 CHA. I hope to gain good recruits early. Actually I just want to check out the rate of recruits appear in pool (last time I use an 8 CHA Leader). So far I'm just Knight after Quincy. Quite a long way to go before I can get Grimm brothers and Clarise eh? After finishing this turn of game I will update my FAQs on recruit management.

Not very totally true

After Brahmin Woods, I got rank 3 and 9 recruits: Kevin, Rage, Rebecca, Ice, Mandy, Trevor, Brian, Stitch and Farsight. They are there until before Rock Falls. After that, with rank 5, I got 8 more: Keith, Stumpy, stoma, Target, Stein, Beth, Stevie, Sharon. And they stay there until after Quincy, and I got Babs nad Billy Bob. They dont have much interesting characteristics.

After this turn of game I will try 8 Cha Leader once again, this time use only 2 starting recruits. Then when I got Mentats I will try if I can get more recruits drugged up.

Report back later, people.

Okay yeah certain missions not every, though looking at the triggers there were a lot more recruits planned that never made it into the game.

Usually they are added at the end of the chapter except for a few which add special recruits for completing secondary objectives like saving the ghouls in Quincy.

Hope you won't call my post spam.

Definitely not Jax and Torn :( . After Brahmin Woods I got rank 3. After Quincy is Knight. Still not a peep of those two. Which is strange because:
1. I got 10 CHA and shield of hope
2. I remember the last time I played FT (months ago) I got them too. (But not fleetfoot, slicer, frank, harddrive and seedee, even with 8 Cha)
===> BUG?!! :evil:

It seem you draw this from .txt file in Core, didnt you? BUt I tell you, right now I havent seen Fleetfoot, slicer and Frank. And I can tell you that all my games they hadnt appeared in any. One reason I choose 10 Cha is to see if I can get those so-called 'hidden' recruits (6 in all if I remember right). Hvent you seen their ent files of them yet? I wonder if messing around certain ent files will cause them to appear?

I've always got Jax & Torn. In an unmodified game (other than giving everyone PA and gauss rifles to get through the map quickly) with a character that has a charisma of 1, I still get Torn and Jax after Brahmin Wood. Maybe your entities are missing or corrupted?

I got the list by cross referencing the triggers with the recruit pool definitions from the campaign.txt (the characters.txt is in the right order BTW) and then opening each entity to check their rank.

Yeah, I used to nose around those .txt file too. But they didnt help explain why right now I dont have those boys. I still have those ent files correspond to them.

Jax hm05.ent, Torn hf11.ent they might be corrupt, try repatching that should overwrite them.

Edit Looking more closely at the campaign text, Fleetfoot and Slicer have tagnames mission03a instead of mission03. I didn't see this before since they're in the middle of the other recruits for after mission 3. Presumably they were meant to be enabled seperately perhaps as a reward for rescuing Nanuk?

Just open bunker 3, open the triggers. Look for the trigger that says mission 9 complete.

Copy it and edit the condition to cvar mission 3 and the action to modify recruits tagged mission03a (you can delete the other actions).

If you want more step by step than that post in the modding thread.
