First time out of the vault
Bethesda is the worst choice for possible developers. I couldn't believe the news when I read it, and I was very upset. Sigh.
Now we're just going to get a new Fallout RPG. Probably a real one. Bethesda is even more of a serious RPG developer than Black Isle was. So now we're going to be stuck with a new Fallout RPG rather than something that could have been perfect.
Ion Storm would have been a perfect candidate for the Fallout license. Could you imagine something like Deus Ex in the Fallout universe? I mean, wow. Instead of all those skills and stuff, you'd have the SPECIAL system and perks for every few raiders you kill. It would have been great.
But Bethesda had to go ahead and ruin what would have been a dream come true. Ever since I heard that Van Buren got shut down I was secretly praying that Dreamcatcher or Ion Storm or Wizardworks or something would pick up the license, but just my luck, another RPG developer had to go ahead and pick it up, and not only that but a developer that's even more serious about RPGs than anyone else! Sigh.
