Two dead companies, a game with no information, and a range of ideas floating around.
What are the chances that Bethesda will actually make Fallout 3 (if it makes it at all) as fun and enjoyable as Fallout 1 / 2?. The entire concept of bringing in new look and feel (current-date 3D technology), in my opinion, is a pile of steaming bullshit. If they have a license to Fallout's SDK / source code, then they should keep that same 2D isometric look, and add more stuff in.
I am not sure if any of you played Commandos, but here it goes anyway: Commandos 2 / 3 uses a 2D Isometric engine that can rotate the map in 4 ways (90 degrees). All it's buildings, enviroments, etc, are pre-rendered graphics, sort of like Baldurs Gate and Icewind dale. It uses true 3D for all the characters, and it feels great. What do you think on that concept of a Fallout 3? Perhaps impliment it into original Fallout code?
And one final, odd question: Is Fallout SDK and/or source code available for download anywhere?
This is my first post, but i've known the site and read quite a few articles over this year so, bear with me.
