Call of Duty 2

Kind of old now but i just borrowed it from a friend and i must say that it's pretty fucking awesome. Definately one of the best shooters ive ever played.

I thought the same thing when I first bought Call of Duty 2.

Day 1: Played for about 4 hours straight and thought, "this is the end all be all of first-person war games."

Day 2: Started realizing things that annoyed me like infinite enemies, unrealistic damage (I could get sniped 5 times and "regenerate" to full health, I would of rather died), ALWAYS having to charge forward, to complete a level.

Day 3: Hoped the Multiplayer would redeem the game.

Day 4: Dust collector.

The 'renegenerate health' idea kills the game... And I heard the multiplayer is infested with hacks ...
Try Band of brother instead.

well im on day 2 and still liking it. I did notice the infinite health thing when i watched my friend playing it a couple weeks ago however if you play on hard you can get smoked pretty easy. Plus its actually kind of nice not to have to search for health kits all the time.

Finding veteran the only playable difficulty, i completed the majority of the game, until finding a mix of all the common problems, and the ridiculously impossible missions grinding. The game was obviously designed for the easy to normal settings. After two months of dust gathering, i recently uninstalled it.

I didn't much like the original CoD, and I consider the sequel to be the low-point of war-themed first person shooters, for its shitty gameplay and developers' disgraceful inefficiency in addressing the numerous issues of Internet play. Sadly, military FPS' had their brief pinnacle in form of Operation Flashpoint and have been going downhill ever since. This is largely due to the fact that everyone stupidly insists on cloning EA's abysmal Medal of Honor series, rather than continuing down the route OF paved.

After playing the demo of CoD 2 I made the decision never to play another WW II FPS until I get my hands on one that actually offers something new (other than l33t graphix and ooh so innovative real-life explosions) and that actually lets you play as the Germans/Axis for a change...

whatever.. im on hill 400 and still having fun... you have to expect exactly what your paying for... some linear, scripted, german killing fun. CoD2 provides that for sure.

Hey thanks for reminding me of that, saw it in my PCZone about six months ago. Had something about one simultanious warzone developing over time. Missions get started through radio messages, and you get yourself there with what ever load out you supply yourself. I pray to god it gets finnished, is Bohemia making it?

Looks promising, but I don't like this whole future war premise. I want to kill Russkies in 1985, damn it!
